Scott hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 10.1 innings, striking out 12 in that span. He's 5-for-6 in save opportunities with a 2.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 19:17 K:BB across 18 innings this season.       Tanner Scott navigated a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Tigers to record his fifth save of the season.

      Advice: Scott was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and immediately made things interesting, per usual, giving up back-to-back two-out singles to Javier Báez and Carson Kelly, respectively, before striking out pinch-hitter Riley Greene to end the contest. The 29-year-old lefty has walked a proverbial tightrope this season, managing to convert five of six save opportunities this season despite a troublesome 19/17 K/BB ratio across 18 innings of work.       Scott (2-4) picked up the win in Tuesday's extra-inning victory over the Tigers, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out two.

      Advice: Rather than being held back for a possible save situation in extra innings on the road, Scott got the call in the ninth with the score tied 0-0 and was able to escape the jam he created. The southpaw hasn't allowed an earned run in 10 straight appearances, but Scott's been far from sharp during that time, posting an 11:7 K:BB in 9.1 innings. That's still an improvement on his early-season performance, and his 2.12 ERA on the year isn't supported by his 1.53 WHIP or 18:17 K:BB in 17 frames. Scott is still the Marlins' closer and has converted four of five save chances, but A.J.       Crawford (2-2) suffered the loss Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings against the Rays. He struck out six.

      Advice: Crawford did not allow a long ball after having allowed one each over his past two starts (none over his first six outings) but did serve up three extra-base hits on his way to allowing four earned runs for the first time this season. A two-out triple in the first inning by Amed Rosario was the biggest blow while a fourth inning double by Jose Caballero set up Tampa's fourth run and ultimately served as the deciding run that sent Crawford to his second defeat. Despite the relatively subpar effort, Crawford maintains a high-quality 2.24 ERA that he'll take into his next start, tentatively slated to take place over the weekend when the Red Sox head to St. Louis for an inter-league matchup against the Cardinals.       Kutter Crawford was charged with four runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Crawford struck out six and only issued one walk. He got into trouble right away with two outs in the opening frame when he gave up a two-run triple to Amed Rosario and a run-scoring single to Richie Palacios. A fourth-inning sacrifice fly from Jose Siri was enough to saddle him with a loss in a low-scoring showdown at Fenway Park.       Crawford came away with a no-decision Tuesday as the Red Sox fell 4-2 to Atlanta, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: The right-hander held a tough opponent in check, aside from a two-run shot by Jarred Kelenic in the third inning, but Crawford left the mound after 87 pitches (58 strikes) with the score tied 2-2. It was his fourth straight quality start and fifth of the season, and Crawford will take a 1.75 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 46:15 K:BB through 46.1 innings into his next outing, which is schedule to come at home early next week against the Rays. The righty lowered his ERA to 1.75 on the year, and has now struck out six or more batters in six of his eight starts on the year.
