    • Finding stride at plate
Acuna went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's win over the Mets.

Advice: He took Jose Quintana deep in the third inning, part of a four-run frame for Atlanta. Acuna may be turning things around at the plate -- after posting a 26.5 percent strikeout rate in April, he's fanned just 19.4 percent of the time through the first seven games in May. He's also batting .310 (9-for-29) to begin the month with two of his three homers on the season. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Hit with loss in quality start
Houck (3-4) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-1 to the Nationals, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The right-hander pitched well and gave Boston another quality start, Houck's fifth straight and seventh in eight outings this season, but his offense let him down. Houck will carry a 2.24 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 50:8 K:BB through 52.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Rays. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago
    • Registers steal Friday
Winn went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Friday's 11-2 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Winn appears to be finding his swing again -- he's gone 4-for-14 (.286) over his last five contests. He's still gone 20 games without a multi-hit effort after having seven of them in his first 15 contests this season. The shortstop is 6-for-7 on stolen base attempts and is batting .267 with a .683 OPS through 120 plate appearances on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:37 pm

    • Homers off bench Friday
Gorman hit a solo home run in his lone at-bat in Friday's 11-2 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Gorman entered the game as a defensive replacement after the Brewers turned it into a rout. Gorman's ninth-inning blasted ended his 0-for-14 skid that spanned all of May prior to Friday. The second baseman is slashing a meager .179/.262/.350 with five homers, 13 RBI, nine runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 130 plate appearances. Gorman began the year in a near-everyday role at the keystone, but he's now sat out against the last three southpaws the Cardinals have faced, with Jose Fermin picking up the playing time. Gorman had reverse splits last season and that has carried over into 2024, but he's simply not hitting well enough overall to justify a full-time role at this point of the season. • Closes out Friday's game
Diaz walked one and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Diaz had given up five runs over 1.1 innings across his last two outings, which came in non-save situations. This was his first save since April 27, and he's now 7-for-8 in save chances this season. A couple of implosions have wreaked havoc on Diaz's ratios -- he's at a 6.08 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB through 13.1 innings, but he's been scored upon in four of his 14 appearances. His walk rate is high, but it hasn't cost him the closer job yet. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:01 pm

    • Díaz picks up seventh save against Giants
Alexis Díaz hurled a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Díaz did allow a walk, but he didn’t give up a hit while striking out two, and lowered his ERA to 6.08 in the process. That ERA is less-than-ideal, but keep in mind that it’s mostly from some early scuffles. Díaz should be a fine closing option for the remainder of 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:49 pm

    • Four hits, homer in win
Bellinger went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-2 victory over the Pirates.

Advice: Bellinger opened the scoring in the first inning, launching a solo shot off an 0-2 pitch from Jared Jones to give the Cubs an early lead. The 28-year-old Bellinger is now 7-for-13 with a pair of home runs in three games since returning from the IL. Overall, he's slashing .268/.345/.536 with seven homers, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored through 25 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:39 pm

    • Ronald Acuña Jr. goes deep in win
Ronald Acuña Jr. hit just his third home run of the season Friday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: A welcome sight, Acuña’s homer was an impressive shot traveling an estimated 461 feet through the cold, rainy New York night at 114.2 mph exit velocity. Acuña’s power hasn’t been there yet this season, but patience is a virtue with a superstar of this level. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:50 pm

    • Cody Bellinger goes 4-for-5, homers in Cubs’ win
Cody Bellinger finished 4-for-5 with a homer and two doubles Friday in the Cubs’ 7-2 takedown of the Pirates.

Advice: A great night, but somehow, he drove in only himself despite his other three hits all coming with men on base. His first double produced a run, but it actually scored on a Yasmani Grandal error when Nico Hoerner should have been out at home plate. Mike Tauchman stopped at third base on Bellinger’s other double. Bellinger is hitting .268/.345/.536 in 110 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:47 pm
