    • Punches out 10 in loss
Rodriguez (5-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Red Sox, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: Rodriguez got off to a rocky start Tuesday, allowing a pair of runs in each of the first two innings. The 24-year-old Rodriguez would settle in and hold Boston off the board over his final four frames while recording a career-high 10 strikeouts. However, the Orioles couldn't overcome the early deficit in the eventual 8-3 defeat. It's the first time since April 23 that Rodriguez has allowed more than two earned runs in a start -- he'd gone 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA in his previous three outings. Overall, he sports a 3.53 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP and 61:21 K:BB across 51 innings this season. Rodriguez's next start is currently scheduled for early next week in Toronto. • Jordan Westburg has two hits, two RBI in loss
Jordan Westburg went 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBI in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Westburg drove both runs in on a 103.7 mph single in the first inning. He now has 34 RBI to go along with a .291/.351/.508 slash line. While the 25-year-old has cooled down a bit from his torrid start to the season and is pulling the ball far less than he was in April, he continues to produce, hitting .278 with three home runs in 24 games in May. He’s proven himself as a fixture in this lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm

    • Grayson Rodriguez stumbles early against Red Sox
Grayson Rodriguez allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: The Red Sox jumped on Rodriguez early, scoring four runs on five hits in the first two innings, but the 24-year-old responded with four shutout innings to end his day. He also struck out 10 batters and walked just one on the day while posting a 38 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. It mostly came down to location with Rodriguez on Tuesday. The pitches the Red Sox hit hard were either pitches that Rodriguez missed his spots on or pitches early in the count that he was simply trying to throw over the plate. He now has a 3.53 ERA and will look to get back on track next week against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm
    • Day off Tuesday
Bohm isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Tuesday's game against San Francisco, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bohm is batting .311 on the season, but he will get a day to regroup Tuesday after going 6-for-30 (.200) across his last seven contests. Kody Clemens will fill in at the hot corner and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:10 pm

    • Alec Bohm getting night off Tuesday vs. Giants
Alec Bohm is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Giants.

Advice: Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters late Monday that Bohm is dealing with a few lingering physical issues, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that he’s getting a rare night off to rest and recover. The 27-year-old infielder is off to the best season of his career so far with a robust .862 OPS with five homers and a National League-leading 47 RBI through 54 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:11 pm

    • Getting breather versus lefty
Merrill isn't in the Padres' lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.

Advice: The left-handed bat of Merrill will step out of the lineup Tuesday as the Marlins prepare to send Jesus Luzardo to the mound. Jose Azocar will fill the void in center field and bat eighth while Merrill sits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:21 pm

    • Dealing with back tightness
Carter was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with lower-back tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 21-year-old missed some time in mid-May due to a back issue, and it apparently remains bothersome as the month comes to a close. Carter is without a hit in his past 20 at-bats, and the injury could help explain some of those struggles. It's unclear how long the young outfielder is expected to be sidelined, but the organization will likely want him to get some at-bats in the minors before he rejoins the big club. • Sitting down Tuesday
Campusano isn't in the Padres' lineup for Tuesday's game against Miami.

Advice: Campusano will get a day to clear his head Tuesday after going 0-for-11 across his last five games. Kyle Higashioka will fill in behind the dish and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Slumping Evan Carter hits IL with back tightness
Rangers placed OF Evan Carter on the 10-day injured list with a back sprain.

Advice: Carter will ostensibly swap places with fellow top prospect Wyatt Langford as he’ll get some extra time off in an effort to reset mentally after batting just .165 (15-for-91) with three homers and one steal over his last 30 contests. The 21-year-old top prospect hits the shelf in the midst of an 0-for-20 hitless streak at the dish dating back to May 10. It’s far too early to be concerned long-term with Carter, but this season has certainly been an unexpected speed bump following last year’s stellar late-season debut and playoff performance.
