    • Heading back to bench Wednesday
Barger is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Barger will take a seat after he had started in eight of the Blue Jays' past 10 games, with five of those assignments coming at third base and the other three in the corner outfield. With Bo Bichette returning from the injured list Tuesday, Barger's opportunities to play in the infield will become more limited moving forward, but he could still push Davis Schneider or George Springer for the occasional start in left or right field. • Filling in for Varsho again
Kiermaier will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Kiermaier will pick up his fifth consecutive start Wednesday, though Daulton Varsho is on the bench with a back injury for a fourth day in a row. The 34-year-old at least showed some signs of life at the plate with a three-hit performance in Tuesday's 9-4 win, and another strong game Wednesday could put Kiermaier back in the mix for more playing time in the outfield even after Varsho returns. Varsho could slide over to left field to make room for Kiermaier in center on a more frequent basis if the Blue Jays choose to scale back the playing time of Davis Schneider, who is hitting .135 dating back to June 6. • Jose Altuve steals two bases in win over Rockies
Jose Altuve went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and also stole two bases on Wednesday, powering the Astros to a 7-1 victory over the Rockies.

Advice: As he’s done countless times in his legendary career, Altuve served as Houston’s primary offensive catalyst in this one, playing a key role in a four-run outburst in the seventh inning that ostensibly put the contest away. He got things going a couple frames earlier by reaching on a fourth-inning single before stealing both second and third base and scoring on Yainer Diaz’s run-scoring single. He also contributed a run-scoring single of his own in the ensuing frame before plating a run in the seventh inning courtesy of a fielder’s choice. The 34-year-old veteran fantasy stalwart has shown zero signs of slowing down and is really catching fire over the last few weeks, batting .365 (23-for-63) with three homers, 13 RBI and four steals over his last 15 games. • Nolan Jones doubles, scores run in losing effort
Nolan Jones went 1-for-2 with a double on Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Astros.

Advice: It’s been a tough season for Jones on the heels of last year’s unexpected breakthrough campaign, but he’s starting to show some signs of life recently, hitting .279 (12-for-43) with one homer and one steal over his last 15 games. The fact that he’s starting to hit for a little bit of power is an encouraging sign after injuries derailed the first few months of the season for him. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • Yainer Diaz tallies three hits, two RBI in win
Yainer Diaz went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday in the Astros’ win over the Rockies.

Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a run-scoring single off Rockies starter Ryan Feltner in the fourth inning before tacking on another RBI single a couple frames later to give Houston a six-run advantage at the time. The 25-year-old backstop got off to a frosty start this season at the dish, but he’s rounded into form of late, batting .351 (20-for-57) with two homers and one steal over his past 15 games. • Spencer Arrighett whiffs 10 in seven-inning gem
Spencer Arrighetti struck out 10 over seven shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Rockies.

Advice: Arrighetti put together the strongest outing of his rookie campaign yet on Wednesday afternoon at Minute Maid Park, scattering three hits over seven scoreless frames, while recording his first-ever double-digit strikeout performance. The 24-year-old top pitching prospect generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a near-elite 39 percent CSW. It’s notable that this unexpectedly brilliant effort comes after he was torched by the White Sox and Tigers, respectively, in his previous two outings. There’s definitely some streaming appeal here for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues, but he’s been the quintessential boom-or-bust dice roll over the last few weeks. He’ll square off against the struggling Blue Jays on Tuesday in his next outing. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

    • Ryan Feltner gives up four runs in loss to Astros
Ryan Feltner allowed four runs over six innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Feltner managed to hang in there into the middle innings, limiting Houston’s formidable lineup to just a pair of run-scoring singles, until the metaphorical wheels came off in the seventh inning. He was lifted after giving up back-to-back singles to open the frame, but reliever Tyler Kinley allowed both of those inherited runners to eventually cross the plate. He finished with two strikeouts and only handed out one free pass. He’ll bring an inflated 6.02 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 75/23 K/BB ratio across 86 2/3 innings (16 starts) into a home matchup on Wednesday against the Brewers. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Downplays shoulder injury
Turnbull said after Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Tigers that he felt "a little grab" in his right shoulder during his penultimate pitch of the third inning but noted that he isn't especially concerned about the injury, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Making his first start for the Phillies since April 30 as a replacement in the rotation for Taijuan Walker (finger), Turnbull struck out two and allowed one run on one hit and two walks before leaving the game following the bottom of the third inning. The Phillies labeled his injury as a sore shoulder, but he'll undergo further testing Thursday as the team looks to get a more precise diagnosis. The upcoming tests should also help clarify whether Turnbull will be ready to go for his next turn through the rotation, which would fall next week in Chicago at Wrigley Field. Michael Mercado would likely be the next man up to enter the rotation if Turnbull needs to join Walker on the 15-day injured list. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Slugs 10th homer
Vierling went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in a 6-2 loss to the Phillies on Wednesday.

Advice: Vierling took Spencer Turnbull deep in the second pitch of the game for his second leadoff blast this season. Vierling now has 10 home runs through 72 games this season, which matches his career high from last season in 134 games. The 27-year-old has been hitting leadoff nearly every day for almost a month now and carries a .254/.288/.449 line for the season. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago
