    • Hits leadoff homer
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's loss to the Royals.

Advice: The Mariners shortstop got the scoring going on the first pitch of the game with his 11th career leadoff homer. He later added another RBI on a single in the fifth, giving him his third multi-RBI game of the season. Crawford now has five home runs this season and three since coming off the IL on May 20th. The 29-year-old is working on a five-game hitting streak which is tied for his longest of the season. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

    • J.P. Crawford hits leadoff homer in loss to KC
J.P. Crawford homered and drove in two runs in a loss Saturday to the Royals.

Advice: Crawford didn’t waste any time by homering on the first pitch from Alec Marsh to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. The shortstop also drove in a run with a single in the third to again give the Mariners a lead at 3-2. After a horrible start to the year and missing time with an oblique injury, Crawford is looking more like the breakout hitter of 2023 than his .220/.306/.377 slash might suggest. • Taking seat Saturday
O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros

Advice: O'Hoppe will give way to Matt Theiss behind the dish Saturday against Hunter Brown. After going hitless in three straight games, O'Hoppe is 4-for-9 with two runs scored in his last three contests. Rotowire.com Today, 2:51 pm

    • Goes deep Friday
Mountcastle went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a hit-by-pitch in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: Mountcastle has homered three times over four games versus the Rays this season. The first baseman is batting .349 (22-for-63) with five long balls and 13 RBI over his last 16 contests. For the season, Mountcastle has a strong .281/.321/.509 slash line with 11 homers, 31 RBI, 34 runs scored, two stolen bases and 16 doubles over 57 games. He's shown modest growth from last year's .270/.328/.452 slash line, and he's also cut his strikeouts down from 22.8 percent to 21.2 percent year-over-year. Rotowire.com Today, 10:07 am
    • Steals bag, scores in loss
Duran went 0-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Duran stole home, his first steal in 15 games, and leads Boston with 12 thefts. He also leads the team with 39 runs. The outfielder has been hot to start the month of June, going 10-for-26 (.385) with one double, one triple, two home runs, four RBI and seven runs scored over the last six games. • Stuck with loss in quality start
Steele (0-3) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings as the Cubs were downed 3-2 by the Reds. He struck out seven.

Advice: The southpaw pitched well in his second quality start of the season, generating 30 called or swinging strikes among his 90 pitches, but a lack of run support kept him out of the win column once again. Steele appears to be rounding into form after missing all of April with a hamstring strain, and over his last three starts he sports a 1.89 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB through 19 innings. He'll look for that first victory of 2024 in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com Today, 6:17 am

    • Alex Bregman reaches three times Friday in return
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a walk on Friday in his return to the Astros’ lineup.

Advice: Bregman didn’t skip a beat, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances following a brief one-game absence due to left hand soreness. The 30-year-old impending free agent seems like he’ll be good to go moving forward without any lingering concerns. Rotoworld Today, 4:22 am

    • Mason Miller nets first career victory on Friday
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Friday against the Blue Jays to pick up his first win of the season.

Advice: Miller’s fastball velocity was down slightly in this one as he failed to touch triple-digits on three fastballs, but was still averaging a sizzling 99.4 mph in this one. He needed just 12 pitches to strike out a pair of batters in a flawless ninth inning before JJ Bleday delivered a walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame to give him his first win of the year. The hard-thrwoing 25-year-old former top prospect has blossomed into arguably the best reliever in baseball this season with 12 saves to go along with a stellar 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54/11 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings (22 appearances). • Michael King hurls five scoreless to beat D-backs
Michael King struck out five over five shutout innings on Friday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: King received double-digit run support from San Diego’s offense and was able to cruise to a relatively easy win, scattering four hits and one walk over five spotless frames. The 29-year-old righty has been phenomenal of late, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts since May 4. He’ll carry a sharp 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83/32 K/BB ratio across 78 innings (14 appearances, 13 starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Wednesday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics.
