    • Homers, drives in three
Crawford went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, an RBI double and a pair of walks in Tuesday's 8-5 victory over the Guardians.

Advice: Crawford got the Mariners on the board with a two-run blast off Triston McKenzie in the third inning before adding a third RBI with a double in the fourth. Crawford had gone just 1-for-25 with no extra-base hits in seven games prior to Tuesday. Overall, he's slashing just .208/.305/.375 with seven homers, 21 RBI and 29 runs scored through 220 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Today, 7:18 am

    • Justin Steele strikes out eight in no-decision
Justin Steele gave up two runs over 6 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Steele carried a shutout into the fifth inning before backup catcher Curt Casali delivered a game-tying two-run double, which was enough to extinguish any chance of picking up a win since Chicago’s offense didn’t pull ahead until the eighth inning. He generated 14 swinging strikes, with 13 of them coming on his four-seam fastball/slider combo, and finished with a 31 percent CSW. He’ll carry a strong 3.16 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 56/15 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (10 starts) into a rematch on Monday against the Giants at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park. • Skid continues
Canning (2-8) allowed six runs (five earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out four over five-plus innings to take the loss versus the Brewers on Tuesday.

Advice: Canning hadn't given up more than four earned runs in any of his last 11 outings, but the Brewers got to him early and often in this contest. He's now lost four straight starts, and he's gone six outings without a win. The right-hander is at a 5.02 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 54:29 K:BB through 80.2 innings over 15 starts this season. Canning is projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:30 pm
    • Secures save Tuesday
Miller struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Miller took a blown save in his last outing, though it was because he allowed an inherited runner to score. He's struggled a bit lately, allowing nine runs (six earned) with a 16:7 K:BB across 12.1 innings over his last 10 appearances. He's still performing quite well in the closer role for the Athletics, pitching to a 2.20 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB over 32.2 innings while going 13-for-15 in save chances this year. • On fire in June
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: Vaughn grounded into a pair of fielder's choice outs to tally his two RBI. Though it wasn't a particularly notable performance, he now has five home runs, 14 RBI and 12 runs scored across 14 games in June while also hitting .356. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:53 pm
    • Griffin Canning loses fourth straight start
Griffin Canning lost Tuesday after allowing six runs — five earned — in five innings against the Brewers.

Advice: Canning’s stuff is definitely better now than it was at the beginning of the year, but the results remain mediocre. He’s lost all four of his starts this month, though his ERA is slightly lower now (5.02) than it was at the end of May (5.08). Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:20 pm
    • Mason Miller perfect in ninth for 13th save
Mason Miller recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Miller had it easy tonight, getting one strikeout and a pair of routine flies. He’s had some hiccups of late, but he remains about as good of a bet as any reliever from an ERA and strikeout perspective. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:55 pm

    • No-decision vs. Philly
King didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing one run on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: King had to contend with traffic for most of his outing Tuesday, though he'd manage to hold the Phillies to one run before departing in the fifth. The 29-year-old right-hander has pitched well of late, posting a 1.71 ERA with 34 strikeouts over his last five outings (26.2 innings). Overall, King is 5-4 with a 3.49 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 101:37 K: BB across 87.2 innings this season. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Brewers this weekend in his next start. • Rebounds vs. San Diego
Nola didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Padres, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Nola held San Diego scoreless through his first five innings before ultimately allowing three runs in the sixth, including a pair on a Luis Campusano homer. Still, it was a solid bounce-back outing overall for the 31-year-old Nola, who was tagged for eight runs in his last start against the Red Sox. Nola's 8-3 on the year with a 3.54 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 84:25 K:BB across 15 starts (94 innings). He's currently lined up to face the Tigers on the road early next week in his next outing.
