      Canning (3-9) took the loss against the Cubs on Friday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

      Advice: Canning surrendered a two-run homer in the first inning and allowed two more runs before being pulled with two outs to go in the fifth. This was the first time the righty failed to complete five frames in a start since April 13, and he has now yielded four earned runs four times in his past five outings.       Steele (1-3) earned the win against the Angels on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over nine innings.

      Advice: Steele needed just 95 pitches to toss his first career complete game. The only blemish was an RBI single by Taylor Ward in the fifth, but the lefty responded by retiring 13 consecutive batters to seal his much overdue first win of the year. The 29-year-old has logged six straight quality starts and owns a 2.95 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 77:18 K:BB over 79.1 innings this season. He lines up for a road matchup with the Orioles next week.       Witt went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Witt drove home Kansas City's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third before recording hits in each of his next three trips to the plate, including a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the star shortstop's third multi-hit performance in his last three games and he's now tallied at least one RBI in four straight. Witt is 6-for-11 (.545) through three games to start the month of July and his .319 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind only Steven Kwan (.367).       Fairbanks picked up the save over the Royals on Thursday, allowing one run on one hit over one inning while striking out one.

      Advice: Fairbanks entered the contest with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and retired the first two batters in succession before surrendering a solo homer to Bobby Witt. The right-hander was then able to get Vinnie Pasquantino to ground out for the final out of the game, securing his 14th save of the season.       Peter Fairbanks gave up one run and picked up his 14th save of the season on Thursday against the Royals.

      Ozzie Albies went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored against the Giants on Thursday.

      Advice: Albies doubled in the first inning off Logan Webb and Jared Kelenic ended up scoring on a throwing error by Mike Yastrzemski.       Crawford went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Orioles.

      Advice: Crawford ripped a bases-loaded double to put the Mariners ahead in the seventh inning, then scored on a Mitch Garver home run. Prior to Thursday, Crawford had gone 2-for-20 with two walks and a steal over his previous five games. The shortstop is at a .212/.307/.355 slash line with seven home runs, 28 RBI, 34 runs scored and five steals across 64 games this season, mainly serving as the Mariners' leadoff hitter.
