      Munoz (back) threw a light bullpen session before Friday's game against the Royals per Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times, but the reliever did not appear in the contest.

      Advice: Divish had noted there was a possibility Munoz would be available for the first time since exiting Tuesday's game against the Athletics, but it was Ryne Stanek who got the ninth-inning call and ultimately failed to protect a 9-7 lead. With Stanek having appeared in three of the last four games and having thrown 39 pitches in the last two nights, Munoz would certainly be in line for any high-leverage work Saturday if he's healthy enough to handle it.     • Escapes with 13th save
      Diaz gave up a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday, recording his 13th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Cubs. He struck out one.

      Advice: The right-hander made things difficult once again, issuing a free pass with two outs before a Miguel Amaya double brought the tying run to the plate. Diaz was able to strike out Patrick Wisdom to end the game, however. Diaz has walked a batter in four straight appearances, but he's successfully converted six straight save chances. On the season, he carries a rough 5.55 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB through 24.1 innings, but for now the Reds are willing to let him work through his control issues.     • Punches out 10 in win
      Crochet (5-4) yielded two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over six innings Friday, striking out 10 and earning a win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: Crochet gave up a pair of runs in the third inning but only one was earned due to his own throwing error. He's produced quality starts in four straight appearances and six of his last seven. Crochet generated 17 whiffs and racked up double-digit strikeouts for the fourth time this season. Since April 29, he's produced a ridiculous 1.37 ERA with a 63:9 K:BB in eight starts. Crochet will carry a 3.33 ERA into his next start, which is expected to be in Seattle next week.     • Garrett Crochet fans 10 as White Sox snap skid
      Garrett Crochet yielded two runs — one earned — and struck out 10 in six innings as the White Sox defeated the Red Sox 7-2 to snap a 14-game losing streak.

      Advice: The White Sox’s previous win also, not coincidentally, came in a Crochet start on May 21. He has six of the White Sox’s 16 victories on the year. Crochet reached 10 strikeouts for the fourth time this season while allowing two runs or fewer for the eighth straight start. He’s due to face the Mariners next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:31 pm
       
    • Alexis Díaz gives up run, earns 13th save
      Alexis Díaz recorded his 13th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Cubs.

      Advice: After getting two well-hit lineouts to start the ninth, Díaz walked a batter and allowed an RBI double. He then struck out Patrick Wisdom to end the game with a 3-2 score. Díaz has made 26 appearances this season and turned in a perfect inning three times. Still, as shaky as he’s been, he’s 13-for-15 saving games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:43 pm

      Andrés Muñoz threw before Friday’s game and might be available to pitch against the Royals.

      Paul Seward pitched a hitless ninth with a one-run lead for his seventh save Thursday against the Padres.

      Advice: Sewald has been about as tough as ever since returning from an oblique strain a month ago. He has a 0.87 ERA and is 7-for-7 saving games this season. Rotoworld Thursday, 10:11 pm

      Sewald walked one and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Padres.

      Advice: Sewald has three saves over four outings in June and is up to seven saves in as many chances this season. The closer has maintained excellent ratios as well with a 0.87 ERA, 0.48 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB over 10.1 innings.
