      Advice: This is the second straight start for Alonso in the second spot in the order, while Starling Marte moves down the sixth. Carlos Mendoza is clearly trying to jumpstart this Mets offense, and he was with the Yankees as a coach when they hit Aaron Judge second in the lineup, so perhaps he’s trying to recapture some of that magic. Alonso has just a .306 on-base percentage this year, which is the lowest of his career and his RBI opportunities will take a hit with the move out of the cleanup spot, so it’s unclear if this is a great decision.       De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Tigers.

      Advice: De La Cruz crushed a two-run, 422-foot homer off Casey Mize in the first inning Wednesday for the only runs scored in the Marlins' shutout victory. De La Cruz has gone just 4-for-24 in his last six games, though he's already up to nine home runs on the season, nearly halfway to the career-high 19 he hit last year. Overall, the 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .256/.304/.456 with 25 runs scored and 24 RBI, both team highs, through his first 194 plate appearances in 2024.       Munoz gave up a hit and struck out three over 1.2 scoreless innings Wednesday to record his seventh save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Royals.

      Advice: Austin Voth ran into trouble in the eighth inning, so Munoz got the call with runners on second and third and only one out to protect a 3-1 lead. The Mariners' closer did allow an inherited runner to score, but Seattle got the run right back in the bottom of the frame and Munoz dominated the ninth. It's the fourth time this season he's worked more than one inning to notch a save, and with Matt Brash (elbow) done for the year and Gregory Santos (lat) potentially not back until the All-Star break, Munoz may have to continue putting in extra work until Seattle settles on a new setup crew.       Houck (3-5) took the loss against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

      Advice: Houck made it through three scoreless frames before giving up an unearned run in the fourth. The right-hander had a 2-1 lead when he exited with two outs and two runners on base in the sixth, but Greg Weissert gave up consecutive hits in relief to saddle Houck with two more runs (only one of which was earned) along with the loss. Despite the defeat, Houck gave Boston a solid chunk of innings again -- he's completed at least 5.2 frames in each of his nine outings this season.       Judge went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, three doubles, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

      Advice: Judge opened the scoring with his first-inning solo shot and added an RBI double in the seventh. The outfielder has locked in with power over his last 10 games, going 16-for-36 (.444) with five homers, seven doubles, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in that span. He was batting .207 at the end of April, but he's up to a .255/.386/.540 slash line with 11 homers, 29 RBI, 24 runs scored two stolen bases and 13 doubles over 44 contests.       Lopez (4-3) allowed three runs on 10 hits while striking out three over 6.1 innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Yankees. He did not walk a batter.

      Advice: The 10 hits allowed were a season high for Lopez, who also received no run support in a 4-0 loss. He gave up a run in each of the first three innings before settling in to keep things relatively close. The Twins' ace is at a 3.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 58:8 K:BB through 50.1 innings over nine starts this season. Lopez is lined up for a more favorable road matchup versus the Nationals his next time out.       Aaron Judge went 4-for-4 with a mammoth home run, three doubles, two runs scored, two RBI, and a walk in the Yankees’ 4-0 win over the Twins on Wednesday.

      Advice: Judge opened the scoring in this one with a solo-shot onto the third deck of Target Field and never made an out. It was the second time in three games Judge had four batted balls over 100 MPH and he’s raised his OPS from .645 to .926 since April 22nd. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:27 pm

    • Pablo López struggles in loss to Yankees
      Pablo López surrendered 10 hits, three earned runs, and a mammoth home run to Aaron Judge in 6 ⅓ innings on Wednesday. He took the loss and struck out just three Yankees.

      Advice: The Yankees, especially Judge, were all over López in this one. Judge hit a 467-foot moonshot in the first inning and every starter besides Anthony Rizzo had at least one hit. It was still a marvel for López to work into the seventh inning and earn the quality start. He’s due to face the Nationals and Rangers next week in a two-start week. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:24 pm
