      Advice: Diaz has hit well for average this season, but he has struggled to find much power as he has just a .119 ISO. He's started to show more pop of late, tallying three of his eight doubles on the campaign in his last nine games.       Yainer Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, 3 RBI and a run scored against the Athletics on Thursday.

      Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a bases-clearing double in the third inning off Joey Estes and the route was on from there. He hit 23 home runs in 104 games last year, but his power is noticeably down this year. His .119 ISO is well below his .256 ISO from last year. Diaz doesn’t walk often, but has cut his strikeout percentage to 13 percent so far this year.     • Swats solo homer
      Alonso went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run during Thursday's 6-5 win over the Phillies.

      Advice: Alonso tagged Taijuan Walker (foot) for a solo shot in the first inning, putting the first baseman at 10 homers this season. He's now tied for the fourth-most home runs in the NL and owns a .772 OPS with 23 RBI and 27 runs through 164 at-bats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:48 pm

      Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a solo home run against the Phillies on Thursday.



      Advice: The homer was Alonso’s 10th of the season. He’s probably having his worst season of his career so far. Still, Alonso is one of the most reliable players in fantasy baseball and we’ll almost certainly still be looking at close to 40 home runs and 100 RBI from him at the end of the season.

      Pete Alonso will hit second for the Mets on Thursday against the Phillies

      Advice: This is the second straight start for Alonso in the second spot in the order, while Starling Marte moves down the sixth. Carlos Mendoza is clearly trying to jumpstart this Mets offense, and he was with the Yankees as a coach when they hit Aaron Judge second in the lineup, so perhaps he’s trying to recapture some of that magic. Alonso has just a .306 on-base percentage this year, which is the lowest of his career and his RBI opportunities will take a hit with the move out of the cleanup spot, so it’s unclear if this is a great decision.       Lewis (quadricep) did some light running on the field Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta described the upcoming week as a big one for Lewis when it comes to his recovery from the right quad strain that has kept him out since he suffered the injury Opening Day. Lewis will gradually ramp up the intensity of his running this week while incorporating more change-of-direction work into his training regimen. Depending on how Lewis responds to the running work, he could be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment next weekend. In addition to running, Lewis has been fielding grounders and hitting.       Advice: Lewis has plateaued a bit in his rehabilitation process, so it’s an encouraging sign that he’s expected to ramp-up his baserunning this week. The 24-year-old third baseman’s return timetable should come into cleared focus at some point later this week. He’s been out since Opening Day recovering from a severe right quad strain.       Toro went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Toro launched his fourth home run of the year to begin the sixth off Luis Castillo. It's a continuation of what's been a ridiculously hot stretch at the plate for Toro. Over his last 16 games, the 27-year-old is slashing .410/.455/.607 with two homers, nine RBI and 12 runs scored. He has led off in six straight games, all against righties, and has been more of a middle-of-the-order hitter against southpaws. For the season, Toro is now slashing .299/.351/.460 with 13 extra-base hits, 17 RBI, 20 runs and a 7:26 BB:K in 148 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:17 am

      Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

      Advice: Cronenworth got things started for the Padres by going back-to-back with Fernando Tatis off Walker Buehler in the opening inning. He went hitless the rest of the afternoon but continues to be one of the Padres' best bats. He had a 12-game hit streak that came to an end Friday and has been showing increased power early on. His .503 slug percentage is fourth among all first basemen and is a significant personal improvement after averaging a .384 slugging over his last two seasons.
