• Spencer Arrighetti surrenders five runs in loss
Spencer Arrighetti allowed five runs with four strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.

Advice: The Yankees got to Arrighetti early, with Juan Soto taking him deep for a two-run homer in the first inning. Soto brought one more across with a single in the second. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton added a pair of solo homers in the third. Arrighetti hung in there for two more scoreless frames, ending his day after five. The 24-year-old right-hander has had a rough go so far this season, posting an 8.44 ERA, 2.02 WHIP, and a 25/13 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings. He’s currently lined up for a start against the A’s in Houston next week. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
  • Eugenio Suárez has sock and a shoe to lead D’Backs
Eugenio Suárez went 2-for-3 with a homer and a stolen base on Wednesday night, leading the Diamondbacks to a 4-3 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: The 32-year-old slugger was hit by a pitch to start the fourth inning, then stole his first base of the season, but the Diamondbacks couldn’t cash him in. He then added a valuable insurance run with a two-out, 390-foot (104.4) solo shot off of Lucas Sims that extended the Diamondbacks’ lead to 4-2 — and proved to be the difference in the ballgame. With his two-hit attack, Suárez is now hitting .226/.295/.346 with three long balls and 20 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago
  • Joe Mantiply closes out Reds on Wednesday night
Joe Mantiply picked up his first save of the season on Wednesday night, bailing out Kevin Ginkel to protect a one-run lead against the Reds.

Advice: Paul Sewald had already pitched on Tuesday night, and the Diamondbacks didn’t want to go to him on back-to-back days just yet, so it was Paul Sewald that came on to protect a two-run advantage in the ninth inning. After he allowed a run on a walk and a pair of singles though, manager Torey Lovullo turned to Mantiply to put out the fire with runners at first and third and the lead whittled down to run. He understood the assignment, getting Will Benson on strikes and Jonathan India on a fly ball to right to end it. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago
  • Kevin Ginkel struggles in save chance on Wednesday
Kevin Ginkel struggled in a save chance against the Reds on Wednesday night, giving up a run on two hits and a walk while recording only one out.

Advice: Ginkel came on with a two-run lead to protect, but things got interesting in a hurry as Jake Fraley drew a walk, Jeimer Candelario smacked a one-out single and TJ Friedl tacked on an RBI single. That caused manager Torey Lovullo to have a quick hook, getting Joe Mantiply to come out and finish the job. With Paul Sewald back, Ginkel wasn’t going to hold down the closer’s gig any longer, but if he did still have any leash in the role, it may have evaporated on Wednesday. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago
  • Graham Ashcraft surrenders three runs in loss
Graham Ashcraft wasn’t at his best in Wednesday’s loss to the Diamondbacks, surrendering three runs on six hits over his five-plus innings of work.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander also issued three free passes while punching out a pair on the evening. The Diamondbacks scratched out a pair of runs against him in the third inning on an RBI double by Pavin Smith and a bases-loaded walk by Christian Walker. Ashcraft then started the sixth inning and allowed a pair of singles before exiting — and one of those runs came around to score. He got just five whiffs on 86 pitches on the night, posting a miserable CSW of only 15 percent. He’ll carry a 3.86 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and a 32/12 K/BB ratio (39 2/3 innings) into a rematch against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Monday. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Exits with injury
Sborz was removed from Wednesday's game against the Athletics with an apparent injury, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Sborz only threw eight pitches before having to leave Wednesday's game -- seven of which missed the strike zone. It's not immediately apparent what is bothering the 30-year-old right-hander, but the Rangers should offer more details following the game. Rotowire.com Today, 5:45 pm

  • Removed with blister
Bido was removed from his start Wednesday due to a blister on his right middle finger, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bido allowed four earned runs before he was removed from the game midway through the third inning. The severity of his injury is unclear, but the A's haven't given any indication that Bido will have to miss his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:37 pm

  • On bench for third straight game
Cave is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Cave had started in right field in both of the Rockies' previous two matchups with right-handed pitchers, but he'll be on the bench Wednesday while Colorado opposes San Francisco righty Jordan Hicks. Sean Bouchard -- who started the previous two games when the Rockies opposed lefties -- will remain in right field for Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Today, 4:52 pm

  • Sitting Wednesday
Montero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Montero will exit the starting nine for the first time since April 21, when he sat out the front end of a doubleheader with the Mariners. His move to the bench comes while he's fallen into a 3-for-23 slump at the dish over his last six games, though the Rockies haven't signaled that Montero's standing atop the depth chart at first base is in any jeopardy.
