    • Decent in no-decision
Paxton allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out two without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Paxton did fine, though he gave up solo home runs to Stuart Fairchild and Tyler Stephenson to account for two of the three runs on his line. After posting just one quality start over five outings in April, Paxton has settled in with three in a row to begin May. The southpaw has done well at run prevention this year with a 2.84 ERA despite a 1.38 WHIP and 24:24 K:BB through 44.1 innings over eight starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:52 pm

    • Robert Suarez faces heart of Braves lineup in 8th
Robert Suarez worked the eighth against the Braves on Friday and picked up his first hold by pitching a scoreless inning.

Advice: The Padres don’t usually play matchups with their closer, but they did tonight with No. 2 hitter Ozzie Albies due up to start the eighth. It all worked out perfectly; Suarez gave up a couple of hits, but he protected the two-run lead, and then Jeremiah Estrada locked things up against the bottom of the order in the ninth. • Paxton has Quality Start vs. Reds, but no-decision
James Paxton held the Reds to three runs over six innings but picked up no decision Friday.

Advice: The southpaw allowed seven hits, and while he didn’t issue a walk, he also only finished with a pair of strikeouts. The 35-year-old allowed a pair of homers in the game — both solo shots by Tyler Stephenson and Stuart Fairchild — and saw his ERA tick up to 2.84 despite picking up a Quality Start. Paxton has mostly looked the part in 2024, and while there are injury concerns and always will be, there’s plenty of reason to roster him in fantasy while he’s able to get on the bump. • Belts 10th homer Friday
Langeliers went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: It was such a miserable offensive night for the Athletics that Langeliers' 421-foot two-run blast came with Oakland just one out away from a shutout. The backstop was productive throughout the night while reaching safely on three occasions overall, and he's now hitting a stellar .368 (14-for-38) with four home runs and 13 RBI across his last 11 contests. • Aaron Judge homers again in win
Aaron Judge went 1-for-1 with a solo home run and three walks in a win over the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Judge has been retired just once in three games as his scalding hot streak continues. He has six home runs in his last 46 at-bats and his .981 OPS is suddenly sixth among all qualified hitters. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:06 pm

    • Austin Riley held out of lineup again on Friday
Austin Riley (side) was held out of the Braves’ starting lineup for the fourth consecutive game on Friday night.

Advice: It’s still encouraging that there has been no chatter about a possible trip to the injured list, which would seemingly mean that Riley is making progress and should return to the lineup any day now. Zack Short will once again start in his place at the hot corner and will bat ninth against Matt Waldron and the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:02 pm

    • Scratched due to heel injury
Garcia was scratched from Friday's lineup in Philadelphia due to a right heel injury, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Garcia also didn't start Wednesday's game versus the White Sox after his heel got caught by a cleat earlier in the series. The infielder expects to be fine to play Saturday. Ildemaro Vargas has entered the lineup in Garcia's place. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:27 pm
    • Gets break Friday
Caballero is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Caballero has started in the majority of games for Tampa Bay at shortstop this season, but he will get a break as the Rays kick off their series with Toronto. It's the 27-year-old's sixth absences in 46 this season, and he's slashing .252/.309/.360 with 17 stolen bases and 13 RBI. Amed Rosario will get the start in place of Caballero at shortstop and against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:17 pm
    • Langeliers back in the lineup Friday
Shea Langeliers is back in the Athletics lineup, batting fourth against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Langeliers had a routine day off on Thursday night against the Astros, but he’s back in the lineup on Friday. His average is just .218, but he has nine home runs and 24 RBI in 133 at-bats this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:01 pm
