    Carlos Estévez threw a scoreless ninth with a two-run lead for a save Monday against the Brewers.

    Advice: It was Estévez’s seventh consecutive perfect inning, a stretch that’s lowered his ERA from 5.06 to 3.52. He still doesn’t seem like a great bet going forward, but he certainly has it working now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:01 pm
     
  • James Paxton goes seven strong to win at Coors
    James Paxton limited the Rockies to one run and two hits in seven innings to win at Coors Field on Monday.

    Advice: It’s difficult to predict Paxton’s performances this season. He looked done 10 days ago after giving up seven runs and getting pulled in the second versus the Pirates, but he’s since bounced back by allowing two runs and four hits in 13 innings in his last two starts. The Yoshinobu Yamamoto injury took the idea of stashing Paxton on the IL off the board for the Dodgers. He still doesn’t seem like a great bet at this point, but he is a streaming option while pitching for one of baseball’s best teams. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:08 pm
     
  • Cal Quantrill surrenders three runs in loss
    Cal Quantrill lost to the Dodgers after allowing three runs in five innings on Monday.

    Advice: This could and probably should have been worse, given that Quantrill allowed seven hits and walked three, but it goes as a pretty routine loss. Quantrill dropped to 6-5 with a 3.43 ERA. The sooner the Rockies trade him, the better the return will be. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:08 pm
     
  • Freddie Freeman walks five times in victory
    Freddie Freeman singled and walked five times Monday against the Rockies.

    Advice: Freeman became the first player to walk five times in a game since Matt Chapman on Aug. 12, 2021 and the first to both walk five times and collect a hit since, unbelievably, Rougned Odor on Aug. 2, 2018.   • Miguel Rojas goes 3-for-5 in Dodgers’ victory
    Miguel Rojas went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored against the Rockies on Monday.

    Advice: Sure, Jazz Chisholm Jr. doesn’t seem to like him, but how badly did the Marlins botch things by trading Rojas for a prospect they didn’t even want a year and a half ago? Rojas is batting .292/.339/.460 in 121 plate appearances this season, and he’ll serve as the Dodgers’ primary shortstop while Mookie Betts is out. Meanwhile, the Marlins continue to roll with Tim Anderson, who might be the very worst player in the league. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:08 pm

  • Neris blows save as Cubs lose 7-6 Monday
    Hector Neris allowed three runs, blew the save and took the loss against the Giants on Monday.

    Advice: The Cubs’ lead evaporated quickly in the ninth inning. With one out, Jorge Soler reached on a catcher interference. After Neris issued a walk to Mike Yastrzemski, Thairo Estrada hit a three-run home run to give the Giants a 7-6 lead. Neris now has four blown saves on the year including two blown saves in his last three opportunities. Neris’ ERA is now 4.73 on the year. His grip on the closer role loosens with every blown save.   • Bailey blasts fifth home run against Cubs Monday
    Patrick Bailey went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run against the Cubs on Monday.

    Advice: Bailey’s home run was his fifth of the season. His solo shot in the eighth inning brought the Giants to within two runs before their ninth inning comeback. Bailey continues to hit as his average is up to ,286 with a .795 OPS and 23 RBI in 48 games with the Giants this year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:37 pm
     
  • Ramos belts ninth home run against Cubs Monday
    Heliot Ramos went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in the Giants’ 7-6 victory over the Cubs on Monday.

    Advice: Ramos’ home run was his ninth of the season. He’s now homered in three of his last four games and has four consecutive games with at least two hits.     Ian Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run against the Giants on Monday.

    Advice: Happ’s home run was his eighth of the season. The three-run blast gave the Cubs a 6-3 lead in the seventh inning. It was Happ’s second home run in his last three games and third consecutive game with at least two hits. Happ’s wRC+ on the season is up to 115, which is the same as his career wRC+.
