• Juan Soto propels Yankees past Tigers on Sunday
Juan Soto delivered a go-ahead three-run double in the seventh inning on Sunday, propelling the Yankees to a 5-2 victory over the Tigers in the Bronx.

Advice: The Tigers came back with a pair of runs to tie the game in the top half of the seventh inning, but the Yankees’ bats went right back to work in the home half of the frame. They loaded the bases against Shelby Miller with a single and a pair of walks, then Soto greeted Andrew Chafin with a three-run double into right field to put the Bombers back on top to stay. The 25-year-old superstar finished the day 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts and is now hitting .316/.421/.559 with eight homers, 28 RBI and four stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Aaron Judge leaves the yard in win on Sunday
Aaron Judge went 2-for-3 and launched his seventh home run of the season on Sunday as the Yankees defeated the Tigers.

Advice: Judge opened the scoring in the contest, crushing a 399-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Tigers’ star southpaw Tarik Skubal in the home half of the first inning. He also doubled, drew a walk and struck out in the ballgame. On the season, the 32-year-old superstar is now hitting .220/.350/.439 with seven homers, 20 RBI and two stolen bases. • Dennis Santana snags second save on Sunday
Dennis Santana snagged his second save of the season on Sunday afternoon, working a scoreless eighth inning to preserve a three-run lead against the Tigers.

Advice: Presumably, someone else would have come on to work the ninth inning — had their been one — but the game was called due to rain, leaving Santana with his second save of the season. He isn’t a threat to usurp the closer’s gig away from Clay Holmes anytime soon. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago
  • Nestor Cortes fans nine in no-decision on Sunday
Nestor Cortes looked sharp in a no-decision against the Tigers on Sunday, giving up two runs on just three hits over 6 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The crafty 29-year-old southpaw piled up nine strikeouts on a rainy afternoon in the Bronx while allowing just one base on balls. He kept the Tigers off the board completely through the first six innings, but he allowed a pair of singles before departing in the seventh — and both runners came around to score against the Yankees’ bullpen. Cortes got 13 whiffs on 97 pitches on the day, registering a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll attempt to get back in the win column as he carries a 3.72 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 46/8 K/BB ratio (48 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Rays in Tampa Bay. • Spencer Torkelson has two doubles, RBI in loss
Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Tigers fell to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon in New York.

Advice: Torkelson smacked a two-out double off of Nestor Cortes in the second inning, but was left stranded there. He then got the Tigers on the board with a run-scoring double off of Ian Hamilton in the seventh inning. He’s still searching for his first home run of the season, but he does have 11 doubles and perhaps his bat is finally showing some signs of life. On the season, he’s slashing .216/.283/.304 with 12 RBI. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago
  • Tarik Skubal strikes out 12 in no-decision
Tarik Skubal pitched well in a no-decision against the Yankees on Sunday afternoon, piling up 12 strikeouts over six innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The hard-throwing southpaw allowed six hits on the day and didn’t allow a base on balls. All of the damage done against him came in the first two innings, as Aaron Judge crushed a solo homer in the first and Oswaldo Cabrera added an RBI double in the second. Skubal generated 18 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the day — a whopping 12 of those on his changeup — while posting a ridiculous CSW of 44 percent. Skubal will carry a stellar 1.90 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and a 53/6 K/BB ratio (42 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Astros. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Cal Raleigh hits go-ahead homer in Mariners’ win
Cal Raleigh hit a tiebreaking homer in the top of the ninth Sunday as the Mariners edged the Astros 5-4.

Advice: Two big homers in two days for Raleigh, who now has eight longballs on the season. He’s actually just 3-for-35 at the plate in his last 10 games, but he’s making those hits count. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Bryce Miller gives up two homers to Astros
Bryce Miller surrendered four runs in six innings Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: Jon Singleton and Kyle Tucker both hit two-run homers off Miller, but this was still hardly a disaster. He’s really been great at limiting the damage in his worse starts this season, and he’s allowed a total of two earned runs in his four good outings, leaving him with a 2.61 ERA in 41 1/3 innings to date. • Hunter Brown pulled in fifth against Mariners
Hunter Brown lasted 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs Sunday in a no-decision versus the Mariners.

Advice: Brown walked four and threw 91 pitches to get his 13 outs. His 13.1% walk rate this season is more than 50% higher than his previous career mark, and nothing else he’s doing is making up for that. A demotion to the bullpen or Triple-A seems appropriate at this point. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago
