    • Hand showing improvement
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that the swelling in Suarez's hand has improved significantly, and the left-hander could pick up a ball in the next day or two, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old was struck in the left hand by a comebacker during Saturday's start against the Cardinals, but he's had X-rays come back negative and already appears to be progressing in his recovery. It remains to be seen if Suarez will be cleared for his next turn through the rotation, but he's certainly trending in the right direction. The Phillies also have three scheduled days off surrounding next weekend's two-game series versus the Mets in London, so the club could give Suarez some extra time between outings without needing an additional starter. • Ranger Suárez (thumb) feels much improved Sunday
Ranger Suárez (thumb) reported feeling much improved on Sunday and there’s optimism from the team that he’ll be able to make his next scheduled start.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw was lifted from Saturday’s start after he was hit on his pitching hand by a comebacker, but the swelling went way down overnight and he’s feeling much better already. Phillies’ skipper Rob Thomson said they’ll wait a day or two before he attempts to throw, but it sounds like he’ll be able to take the hill as planned against the Mets in London next weekend. • Requires another rehab start
Miller (shoulder) is scheduled for a rehab start Friday with Triple-A Oklahoma City after he allowed four runs on five hits and a walk over 3.1 innings Saturday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, Eric Stephen of SBNation.comreports.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Miller experienced some reduced velocity, but it doesn't appear to be injury related. The right-hander threw 65 pitches and will continue building up his workload to about five innings as he moves up to the Triple-A level. An additional start after that hasn't been ruled out, but Miller could rejoin the Dodgers if Friday's outing goes to plan. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:25 am

    • X-rays come back negative for Ranger Suárez
X-rays on the injured thumb of Phillies’ left-hander Ranger Suárez came back negative for any fractures on Saturday.

Advice: Phillies’ skipper Rob Thomson told reporters that Suárez is still dealing with some swelling in his thumb but that the team feels fortunate to have dodged any serious injuries. He’s slated to take the mound against the Mets next weekend in London, but it’s still unclear whether or not he’ll be able to take the hill. Fantasy managers should be sure to have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Suárez isn’t ready in time. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:56 pm

    • Wild in loss
Parker (4-3) took the loss to the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Parker loaded the bases and allowed a two-run single to Kyle Manzardo in the first inning and surrendered another run in the third when Jose Ramirez scored on a wild pitch. Parker's four walks were a season high, but he was still able to pitch into the sixth and has not allowed more than three runs in any of his nine starts this season. Parker will take a 3.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB into a home matchup against Atlanta next week. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:30 pm

    • X-rays clean, unsure for next start
Suarez's (hand) X-rays came back negative Saturday but there's swelling in his left thumb and it's unclear if he'll be able to make his next scheduled start, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Fantasy managers can take a deep breath knowing that Suarez avoided significant injury after being hit by a comebacker during his start Saturday. While it's uncertain at this point if Suarez will recover in time for his next start -- which is tentatively scheduled for June 8 -- the 29-year-old is expected to avoid the injured list after Saturday's scare. He's been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, boasting a 9-1 record with a 1.70 ERA across 74.0 innings. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:27 pm

    • Ranger Suarez leaves start with left hand contusion
Ranger Suarez was pulled from Saturday’s start against the Cardinals after being hit in the left hand by a comebacker.

Advice: For now, the Phillies are calling it a left-hand contusion, so it sounds like the 28-year-old southpaw was fortunate to have avoided any serious injury. Prior to exiting, he had worked two perfect innings with a pair of strikeouts. It doesn’t sound like his next start should be in jeopardy, but fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status over the next couple of days just to be on the safe side. • Hit by comebacker
Suarez was removed from Saturday's game against the Cardinals with a left hand contusion after being struck by a 106.1 MPH comebacker in the second inning, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Suarez didn't allow a baserunner and struck out two hitters over two innings.

Advice: Early reports indicate that Suarez is only dealing with a bruised throwing hand after being hit by a comebacker off the bat of Alec Burleson. After Suarez's two perfect innings, Jose Ruiz will take over on the mound. The Phillies will likely continue to evaluate Suarez throughout the evening to ensure that the injury is merely a contusion and nothing long term. Thankfully for Suarez managers, the Phillies have back-to-back days off next week and the ace's next start is scheduled for June 8. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:01 pm

    • Mitchell Parker allows three runs in loss to Guardians
Mitchell Parker allowed three runs with five strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: Parker got into some trouble in the first inning, issuing two walks to load the bases before Kyle Manzardo brought two runners in to score on a single. José Ramirez would score a third run for the Guardians in the third inning on a wild pitch. Parker would pitch into the sixth without allowing another run, leaving with two outs and two runners on at 98 pitches. He struck out five on the day. The 24-year-old left-hander will take a 3.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and a 43/12 K/BB ratio across 50 innings into a home matchup against the Braves on Thursday. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:46 pm
