    • Ronal Blanco takes first loss of 2024
      Ronel Blanco took his first loss Friday after giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Twins.

      Advice: Blanco walked three and gave up a two-run homer to Trevor Larnach. Apart from the time he was ejected for his sticky stuff, this is the first time this year that Blanco has failed to complete five innings.     • Pitches well versus Giants
      Stroman (5-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.1 innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

      Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts.     • Marcus Stroman pitches into eighth in victory
      Marcus Stroman gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings to get a win Friday over the Giants.

      Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not.       Arraez went 4-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored in Friday's victory over Kansas City.

      Advice: Arraez was ever himself, lacing four singles for his fourth four-hit night with San Diego since joining them on May 4. Overall, it is the 27-year-old's fifth four-hit game of the season as he had one in Miami too. He also managed to collect his ninth and tenth RBI as a Padre with a two-run RBI knock in the eighth inning.     • Homers again in win
      Fry went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Friday's 7-1 win over the Nationals.

      Advice: The homer was Fry's fourth in his last eight games. The 28-year-old has enjoyed a memorable May, going 23-for-60 (.383) with seven homers and 18 RBI over 21 contests for the month. He's slashing .352/.485/.629 with eight homers, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and four stolen bases over 40 games this season. Fry offers a right-handed option at multiple positions, though he's unlikely to be needed in left field as much with Steven Kwan back from a hamstring injury.     • Luis Arraez collects four hits, scores three times
      Luis Arraez finished 4-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored as the Padres topped the Royals 11-8 on Friday.

      Advice: The Padres had just two extra-base hits, both of which were doubles, and two walks tonight, but they collected 16 singles and went an incredible 11-for-18 with RISP.     • James McArthur gives up four runs in blowing save
      James McArthur gave up four runs without retiring a batter in the eighth to take a blown save Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Josh Schreiber, McArthur and Will Klein combined to give up nine runs in the eighth after the Royals entered the inning with a 3-2 lead. The good news for McArthur was that Schreiber, the Royals’ best alternative in the closer’s role, was pretty much equally ineffective tonight. Schrieber still has a big ERA lead on McArthur (3.00 to 5.32) and McArthur is up to four blown saves, so a change might be considered. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
       
    • Racks up eight punchouts
      Lopez (3-2) yielded a run on four hits and two walks over six innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Athletics.

      Advice: Lopez worked around some trouble throughout the contest and turned in one of his best starts of the year. He recorded a season-high eight strikeouts with 16 whiffs, including nine with his slider. It was the first time he recorded more than five punchouts in a start since April 30.       Blanco (5-1) took the loss Friday against Minnesota, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Blanco faced 20 batters, marking a season low, not including his May 14 start against Oakland when he was ejected after three innings for a foreign substance. The Houston right-hander also yielded a season-high four runs, pushing his ERA up to 2.44 overall in 59 innings.
