    • Crumbles in fifth frame Saturday
Verlander (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Verlander made it through four innings without giving up a run, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, he put the first three batters on base via a single and two walks before allowing his first run on a sacrifice fly. Verlander got another out to nearly escape the jam without further damage, but William Contreras sent him to the showers with a three-run blast to center field. Verlander was coming off his best start of the season with seven scoreless innings against Detroit his last time out, though that was preceded by a seven-run, five-inning blowup against the Yankees his previous trip to the mound. He'll try to get back on the right track in his next appearance, which is tentatively lined up to take place in Oakland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm
    • Swinging hot bat
Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Devers has homered in four straight games, giving him eight long balls on the year. The third baseman took Miles Mikolas deep in the fourth inning Saturday. Devers is batting .294 (10-for-34) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBI during his eight-game hitting streak. He's up to a .284/.381/.537 slash line through 36 contests this season. • Pitches around trouble for save
McArthur allowed two hits and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Advice: McArthur allowed back-to-back singles to begin the ninth inning, but he retired the next three batters to secure his 11th save of the year. He's allowed multiple baserunners in four of his last six outings, but he's converted his last four save chances. McArthur is at a 4.35 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 23:3 K:BB through 20.2 innings this season. • Surrenders five runs in loss
Ober (4-2) took the loss against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out four batters over four innings.

Advice: A first-inning, two-run home run by Jose Ramirez set the tone for Cleveland's offense, which ended up scoring in all but one of the four frames during which Ober toed the rubber. The right-handed hurler needed 91 pitches to get 12 outs and finished with his shortest outing since his disastrous eight-run, 1.1-inning loss in his first start of the campaign. Ober had rebounded impressively from that blowup prior to Saturday, posting a 2.16 ERA and 0.67 WHIP over his subsequent seven starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm

    • Rafael Devers homers in fourth straight game
Rafael Devers hit a solo homer in a loss to the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: That’s the fourth-consecutive game that Devers has gone deep. The 27-year-old now has eight homers and 19 RBI on the season, and fantasy managers have to be thrilled to see the third baseman driving the baseball over the fence as of late. Obvious point could be obvious. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • McArthur picks up 11th save Saturday
James McArthur allowed two hits, struck out two and picked up his 11th save against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: McArthur allowed back-to-back singles to start the ninth inning before getting Abraham Toro to line out and striking out JJ Bleday. He then struck out Brent Rooker with the game on the line. McArthur’s ERA is 4.35, but he continues to rack up the saves for Royals and fantasy managers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:56 pm
    • Justin Verlander allows four in loss to Brewers
Justin Verlander gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings while receiving a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: Verlander has essentially alternated strong starts with poor ones since coming off the injured list, and this one goes on the ineffective side. The right-hander allowed four hits and two walks, and the big blow was a three-run homer allowed to William Contreras. He’ll be back on the mound Friday against the Athletics. • Ober allows five runs against Guardians Saturday
Bailey Ober allowed eight hits, five runs and a walk in four innings and took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: This was Ober’s worst start since he blew up against the Royals in his first start of the season. He had allowed two earned runs or less in six of his previous seven starts. Ober’s ERA is now 4.40 on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Rangers at home next weekend.

    • Throws another bullpen Saturday
Miller (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Miller is now expected to throw a three-inning simulated game within the next few days. Assuming all goes well, he will then embark on a minor-league rehab assignment. The Dodgers haven't said how long they plan on keeping Miller in the minors, but considering he has been on the shelf since April 13, he will likely need to make multiple starts in order to get back to a starter's workload.
