    • Fans seven in no-decision
Snell allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over four innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Monday.

Advice: Snell went on the paternity list Thursday while awaiting the birth of his child, but he ended up taking his normal turn in the rotation. The left-hander set a season high with seven punchouts but again failed to complete five innings -- through five starts this season, he's topped out at 4.2 frames. Snell also has yet to allow fewer than three earned runs in an outing, and his ERA for the campaign sits at an unsightly 10.42. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:23 pm
    • Snell strikes out seven in no-decision Monday
Blake Snell allowed four runs (three earned) in four innings and got a no-decision in the Giants’ 8-4 victory over the Phillies on Monday.

Advice: Snell allowed five hits, two walks and struck out seven. It’s been a difficult start to the year for the two-time Cy Young award winner. Snell is yet to complete five innings in any of his five starts and has a 10.42 ERA. The seven strikeouts were a season-high at least. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees at home this weekend.

    • Lane Thomas activated from the IL
Nationals activated OF Lane Thomas (knee) from the IL.

Advice: Thomas has been on the IL for just over a month with a knee injury. The 28-year-old was tremendous in 2023 but has gotten off to a brutal start in 2024 with a .184/.250/.253 slash line in 22 games. He will remain a fixture in the Nationals’ lineup and should turn things around in the coming weeks. While he may not reach the highs of 2023, he remains a quality MLB outfielder and his 11 steals on the season signal the type of fantasy upside he has. Victor Robles was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:33 am
    • Reinstated from IL
Thomas (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Victor Robles was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Thomas has been out since late April with a Grade 2 MCL sprain, but he is now ready to roll following a four-game rehab stint with Double-A Harrisburg. Thomas mostly struggled over the first few weeks before landing on the IL, slashing .184/.250/.253 with two homers and 11 steals, but he should immediately slot back in as the starting right fielder for Washington. • Allows two runs in no-decision
Manaea did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs, five hits and a walk over five innings against the Giants. He struck out six.

Advice: Manaea threw 88 pitches, allowing single runs in the second and third innings prior to exiting the game after five innings. He was in line for a tough-luck loss but was bailed out when the Mets scored three in the bottom of the ninth for the come-from-behind victory. Manaea entered the game on six days rest and tallied his seventh-consecutive start of allowing three or fewer runs. Through 10 starts, Manaea has a solid ERA of 3.16 with a 1.29 WHIP and 47 strikeouts over 51.1 innings. His next start is tentatively scheduled to take place next weekend when the Mets travel to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:46 pm

    • Suffers second defeat
Yamamoto (5-2) suffered the loss Sunday against the Reds, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Yamamoto was done in by a lack of run support combined with a tough-luck four-run third inning. Yamamoto recorded two outs in the third but an infield single by Jake Fraley extended the inning while loading the bases and was followed by consecutive two-run singles by Jonathan India and Nick Martini. The outing marked Yamamoto's first defeat since the first game of the season and came on the heels of an impressive five-game stretch where Yamamoto went 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31 strikeouts across 32 innings. His next start is scheduled to take place next weekend when the Dodgers welcome the division-rival Rockies to Chavez Ravine. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:30 pm
    • Juan Soto plates run in loss to Padres
Juan Soto doubled, walked and drove in a run as the Yankees fell to the Padres on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: The 25-year-old superstar broke a scoreless tie with a run-scoring double off of Joe Musgrove in the sixth inning. That would wind up being the Bombers’ only tally until the ninth inning. Soto is once again enjoying an outstanding all-around season at the plate — slashing a robust .310/.408/.571 with 14 homers, 44 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:10 pm

    • Flirts with danger in save
Fairbanks allowed two hits and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Royals.

Advice: Fairbanks allowed back-to-back two-out singles to load the bases, but he got Bobby Witt on a groundout to end the threat. Despite the danger, Fairbanks turned in his seventh straight scoreless outing since returning from a nerve issue in his arm. He's allowed just four baserunners in that span. The 30-year-old has a 4.50 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 18:9 K:BB and five saves over 14 innings this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:15 pm

    • Peter Fairbanks holds on for the save
Peter Fairbanks earned the save on Sunday after allowing two hits and a walk in his one inning of work.

Advice: The Royals loaded the bases against Fairbanks who got Bobby Witt Jr. to ground out and end the game. Fairbanks didn’t get a single swing and miss but nailed down his fifth save all the same. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:00 pm
