      Advice: Mullins is 0-for-16 with eight strikeouts in his last five games and 5-for-59 with a 19/4 K/BB in his last 18 games. He was off to fine start before that, but the Orioles seem to have real concerns about the way he’s performing, given that he was just held out of the starting lineup twice against righties over the weekend.       Advice: Thomas is running again for the first time since being diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee three weeks ago. Zuckerman notes that Thomas wasn't running at full effort but seemed to be moving at close to 100 percent speed. Running the bases is typically one of the last steps a player coming back from a knee injury takes before embarking on a rehab assignment, though it's not yet clear when Thomas might report to a minor-league affiliate for game action.       Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts against the Reds on Tuesday.

      Advice: Gurriel got off to a really fast start and still posted decent run and RBI numbers for a while after that concluded, but he’s been a mess lately; he’s batting just .160 with no homers and three RBI in his last 19 games.
