    • Luis Castillo struggles in loss to Royals
Luis Castillo gave up five runs over five innings while allowing four strikeouts against the Royals on Saturday in a loss.

Advice: Castillo allowed six hits and issued a walk while striking out four. It was easily his worst start since April, as the 31-year-old had gone 10 straight starts while allowing no more than three runs, and only one of those outings saw him give up more than two. It happens. Castillo still has a healthy 3.35 ERA on the season over 14 efforts, and he gets to face the lowly White Sox next week. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • Marsh allows four runs, strikes out eight vs. M’s
Alec Marsh gave up four runs in five-plus innings while striking out eight Saturday against the Mariners while being credited with a win.

Advice: Marsh, 26, gave up seven hits without issuing a walk. The first pitch he threw was hit over the fence by J.P. Crawford, but he settled down nicely over the next few innings while taking advantage of Seattle’s swing-and-miss issues. He did struggle in the fifth before being pulled, but the stuff was better than this line suggests. Marsh has streaming appeal, but that appeal doesn’t apply to a scheduled start next week against the Yankees. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • One more sim game before assignment
Kershaw will throw a three-inning simulated game next week then start a rehab assignment, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports Saturday.

Advice: Kershaw completed a two-inning sim game Friday -- his second simulated game of June -- and will throw another one next week before being sent off to a rehab assignment. The veteran lefty touched 90 mph Friday and is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a shoulder surgery in November. Still, Kershaw will likely require a handful of rehab starts before rejoining the big-league roster, making a July return feasible. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

    • Struggles in London
Manaea (3-3) took the loss Saturday against the Phillies in London, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Manaea got off to a good start Saturday, holding the Phillies to just one hit through his first three scoreless innings. However, Bryce Harper launched a home run with one out in the fourth before Philadelphia rallied for five runs with two outs in the frame, forcing Manaea from the game. The left-hander's now allowed 11 earned runs over 9.1 innings in his last two starts after pitching to a 2.70 ERA over his previous seven outings. Overall, Manaea sports a 4.30 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 60:25 K:BB across 60.2 innings this year. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, currently scheduled for next week at home versus the Padres. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm

    • Making next start in Double-A
Matz (back) will start on Tuesday for Double-A Springfield, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Matz was able to get through two shutout innings on 24 pitches during his first rehab start at Triple-A on Thursday. Manager Oli Marmol said Saturday that the 33-year-old southpaw will build up to 40 pitches in his upcoming start, and the team will aim to get him up to about 75-80 pitches before returning him to its big-league rotation, making it likely he'll require at least one more rehab start after Tuesday. • First to 10 wins
Suarez (10-1) earned the win Saturday over the Mets in London, allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: It wasn't Suarez's most dominant outing (the eight hits allowed were a season high), though he managed to limit the damage en route to his league-leading 10th win. It's encouraging to see Suarez make a successful return to the mound after he was struck in the pitching hand by a line drive in his last start, forcing him out of the game after two innings. Overall, the 28-year-old southpaw sports a pristine 1.81 ERA with a 0.85 WHIP and 85:17 K:BB across 79.2 innings this year. Suarez is currently lined up to face the Orioles on the road in his next outing. Rotowire.com Today, 1:17 pm

    • Matthew Boyd held showcase for 17 teams on Friday
Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that free agent left-hander Matthew Boyd held a showcase for 17 MLB teams in California on Friday.

Advice: The 33-year-old southpaw — who is now more than 11 months removed from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery — reportedly sat in the 92-93 mph range during his session on Saturday. Given how many teams around the league are in need of quality rotation depth, Boyd should at least be able to land a minor league pact someplace to add depth. Rotoworld Today, 1:10 pm

    • Ranger Suárez fans six to beat Mets in London
Ranger Suárez struck out six and two runs over 5 2/3 innings on Saturday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: Suárez took the ball for Saturday’s London Series opener across the pond and got a big assist from teammate Orion Kerkering, who came on to strike out Mets star Francisco Lindor and strand a pair of inherited runners in the process. The 28-year-old southpaw has been masterful this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 12 of his 13 starts. He’ll bring a microscopic 1.81 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 85/17 K/BB ratio across 79 2/3 innings (13 starts) into a road outing on Friday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 1:03 pm

    • Sean Manaea takes loss in London Series opener
Sean Manaea was blasted for six runs over 3 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Manaea drew the starting assignment for Saturday’s London Series opener against the division-rival Phillies and was unable to complete four frames. The wheels came off completely in the fourth inning when he gave up homers to Bryce Harper and Whit Merrifield in a disastrous six-run frame. He’ll bring a 4.30 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 60/25 K/BB ratio across 60 2/3 innings (12 starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Padres. Rotoworld Today, 1:03 pm
