    • Taking seat Saturday
Renfroe is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Seattle.

Advice: Renfroe will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout after going 1-for-4 with two RBI in the series opener Friday. He's currently on a seven-game hitting streak, going 9-for-26 with four doubles, one home run and five RBI over that span. The lefty-hitting Adam Frazier will start in right field and bat seventh against Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

    • Mendoza: Kodai Senga won’t return in first half
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed Saturday that Kodai Senga (shoulder) will not return prior to next month’s All-Star break.

Advice: It became apparent several weeks ago that Senga, who has been on the shelf since spring training due to a right shoulder issue, simply wasn’t making enough progress to return to New York prior to the All-Star break. The 31-year-old righty has been in a bit of a holding pattern working on his throwing mechanics and won’t progress to throwing a bullpen session until next week. Rotoworld Today, 7:44 am

    • Cracks sixth homer
Melendez went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk and four RBI in Friday's win against the Mariners.

Advice: Melendez blasted a 406-foot, three-run homer off Bryce Miller in the fourth inning before adding another RBI via a groundout in the sixth. This marks the 25-year-old's second four-RBI game of the season, with the first coming April 19. Hopefully Melendez can build upon this performance, as he entered the contest hitting a ghastly .111 (5-for-45) with 13 strikeouts over his last 15 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:47 pm

    • MJ Melendez homers, drives in four in comeback win
MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests. • Finnegan picks up 17th save against Braves Friday
Kyle Finnegan tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Friday.

Advice: The save was Finnegan’s 17th of the season. He added two strikeouts in the process. His ERA is now 1.80 on the season. Finnegan has come out of nowhere to be one of the best closers in all of fantasy this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:10 pm

    • Up to 17 saves
Finnegan earned the save Friday in a 2-1 win over Atlanta, striking out a pair in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Finnegan is now 17-for-19 in save chances this year, tied for fourth-most in the majors. The right-hander's allowed just two earned runs in his last 23 appearances (23.1 innings), lowering his ERA to 1.80 with a 0.92 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB across 25 innings this season. • Senga to throw bullpen next week
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is set to throw a bullpen session early next week, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Advice: The Mets believe the 31-year-old right-hander is trending in the right direction. A bullpen session would represent significant progress, though Senga is still without a clear timetable for returning. He’s been out all season recovering from a shoulder injury. • Reaches four times, homers
Betts went 2-for-4 with two walks, a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 11-7 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Betts' three-run blast capped off a six-run fifth inning for the Dodgers and plated Miguel Vargas and Austin Barnes. Prior to Thursday's outburst, Betts had gone 1-for-24 (.042) across six games. Despite the minor cold spell, he owns the ninth-best OPS in MLB at .923 with 10 homers and nine stolen bases. • Struggles in abbreviated start
Buehler didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: After needing 78 pitches to get through three frames, Buehler didn't come out for the fourth, marking the 29-year-old's shortest start of 2024. He surrendered a two-run home run to Nick Gonzales in the third inning, the right-hander's seventh long ball allowed in 28.0 innings. Buehler's been shaky since returning from Tommy John surgery, yielding exactly three runs in five of his six starts this season to fuel a 4.82 ERA. He's lined up for a home start against the Rangers on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:47 am
