      Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed Saturday that Kodai Senga (shoulder) will not return prior to next month’s All-Star break.

      Advice: It became apparent several weeks ago that Senga, who has been on the shelf since spring training due to a right shoulder issue, simply wasn’t making enough progress to return to New York prior to the All-Star break.       Advice: Melendez blasted a 406-foot, three-run homer off Bryce Miller in the fourth inning before adding another RBI via a groundout in the sixth. This marks the 25-year-old's second four-RBI game of the season, with the first coming April 19.       MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

      Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests.
