    • Gray tosses six shutout innings, gets third win
Jon Gray threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Rangers’ 6-0 victory over the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Gray gave up two hits, walked none and struck out three. It was a necessary bounce back start for Gray after he allowed nine earned runs in his last start against the Mets. It was just his third win of the season and first since May 15th. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the season. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next weekend. • Eflin goes seven, allows four in loss to Pirates
Zach Eflin allowed four runs in seven innings and got the loss against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Eflin gave up five hits, walked one and struck out six. This was the longest of Eflin’s four starts since coming off the injured list and his second start in a row with at least six strikeouts. His ERA on the season is now 4.20. It’s safe to say Eflin hasn’t been able to repeat his breakout season last year when he won 16 games with a 3.50 ERA. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals at home next weekend.

    • Zach Eflin gives up four over seven against PIT
Zach Eflin gave up four runs in seven innings while being charged with a loss Saturday to the Pirates.

Advice: Eflin struck out six while issuing one walk. The 30-year-old right-hander gave up a long homer to Oneil Cruz in the first, and then gave up three runs in the third before settling down nicely. It was far from an abhorrent start, but Jared Jones was the better starter Saturday afternoon. Eflin now has a 4.20 ERA and (much more impressive) 63/6 K/BB through his 81 1/3 innings. • Yu Darvish (groin) expected to return on Tuesday
Yu Darvish (groin) is expected to rejoin the Padres’ rotation on Tuesday.

Advice: The 37-year-old right-hander made it through a minor league rehab start at High-A Fort Wayne without any issues on Wednesday and will square off with the Nationals at home on Tuesday night. Before landing on the injured list in late May with a strained groin, Darvish had posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 56 1/3 innings through his first 11 starts on the season. • Expected to start Tuesday
Darvish (groin) is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Nationals, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Darvish is set to make his first start since May 29 after an IL stint due to left groin soreness. The 37-year-old made a minor-league rehab start at High-A on Wednesday but only got up to 49 pitches and will likely be under some sort of pitch count against the Nationals. Across 11 starts, Darvish owns a 3.20 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP with 53 strikeouts. Rotowire.com Today, 2:49 pm

    • Idle Saturday
Tatis (triceps) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: Tatis was hit by a pitch during Friday's game and was lifted from the contest. He'll remain on the bench to begin Saturday's game and is dealing with a bruised triceps. David Peralta will bat sixth and play right field. Rotowire.com Today, 1:16 pm

    • Fernando Tatis Jr. (triceps) held out of lineup
Fernando Tatis Jr. (triceps) was held out of the Padres’ starting lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Brewers.

Advice: The 25-year-old superstar was plunked on the left triceps with a pitch during Friday night’s affair against the Brewers. He walked away with only a contusion, but it sounds like he’ll need a day or two before he’s ready to return to the starting lineup. David Peralta will start in his place in right field and bat sixth for the Padres against Carlos Rodriguez and the Brewers. Rotoworld Today, 1:10 pm

    • Not starting Saturday
Paredes is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Paredes will get a rest Saturday after going 1-for-5 with two strikeouts in Friday's 10-3 win over Pittsburgh. Amed Rosario will start at third base and bat fifth against Pirates right-hander Jared Jones. Rotowire.com Today, 12:51 pm

    • Next start will be with Padres
Darvish (groin) is expected to come off the injured list to make his next start with San Diego, per MLB.com.

Advice: Darvish struggled in a minor-league rehab start with High-A Fort Wayne on Wednesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 3.1 innings. He threw only 49 pitches in that outing, but the Padres nonetheless appear intent on moving him back into the rotation for his next appearance. It hasn't yet been announced when Darvish will make that start, but given the typical time between outings, it's logical to expect Monday or Tuesday versus Washington to be the target date.
