• Resting Thursday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Jeffers will get some maintenance in Thursday's day game after he caught all nine innings of the Twins' 4-0 loss Wednesday night. Christian Vazquez will check in for Jeffers behind the dish. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Homers Wednesday
Ortiz went 2-for-2 with a solo homer, two walks and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Ortiz is now 5-for-10 with three extra-base hits and a .615 OBP over his last three games while securing the everyday third-base job in Milwaukee. Overall, the 25-year-old Ortiz is slashing .277/.384/.511 with four homers, 12 RBI, 13 runs scored and a stolen base through 37 games this season. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

  • Starts rehab assignment
Soler (shoulder) went 0-for-4 with one strikeout in his first rehab game with Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

Advice: Soler had a freak accident Tuesday when he was hit in the head by a ball while taking batting practice, but he came out of it no worse for wear and was cleared for a rehab assignment. The slugger is coming back from a right shoulder strain and should be activated by the Giants in the coming days. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

  • Begins rehab assignment
Buxton (knee) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

Advice: Buxton played seven innings in center field before being lifted from the game. He could need another rehab game or two before being reinstated from the 10-day injured list, but Buxton's return to the 26-man active roster is coming soon. He's been out for most of May with right knee inflammation. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Expected to be optioned after rehab
Dominguez (elbow) is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre once his 20-day rehab window concludes, Randy Miller of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Advice: Dominguez began a rehab assignment with Single-A Tampa on Tuesday as he comes back from Tommy John surgery. He will serve as the designated hitter for 10-to-14 days before eventually playing the outfield. The 21-year-old needs time to knock some rust off since he went eight months without playing games, so it's going to take beyond -- perhaps well beyond -- the 20-day rehab allotment before he becomes an option for the Yankees. Additionally, the Yanks are happy with their current outfield situation, so there's not really room for Dominguez right now, barring injury. Dominguez is still a worthy stash in fantasy leagues given his upside, but it's possible it might not be until 2025 when he gets another extended run with the big club. • Goes deep in loss
Abreu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Rays.

Advice: Abreu gave Boston a 2-1 lead with his solo blast in the fourth inning. The homer was the fourth for Abreu, who has settled into the strong-side platoon role after a shaky start to the season. He's currently slashing .305/.391/.547 against right-handers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:00 am
  • Opportunity drying up
Jankowski started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Cleveland.

Advice: Jankowski made his third consecutive start and fourth in the last five games, but his opportunities may be coming to close. Evan Carter (lower back stiffness) is expected to return to the lineup Friday against the Angels, which is expected to move Jankowski back to a bench role. Additionally, the Angels' projected starter Friday is lefty Tyler Anderson, which would likely preclude Jankowski from making a fourth straight start. Rotowire.com Today, 5:47 am
  • Triples, scores in win
Taveras went 1-for-4 with a triple and run scored in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Taveras scored the Rangers first (and winning) run when his fifth-inning triple immediately preceded a Marcus Semien home run. Taveras has been rolling since late April, posting a .323 average (20-for-62) and .948 OPS with eight walks, two steals, three doubles, one triple, three home runs, eight RBI and 16 runs over the last 18 games. • Homer, two hits in win
Ward went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's win over St. Louis.

Advice: Ward jumped on a hanging four-seamer from Nick Robertson in the bottom of the seventh and sent it into the stands in left field for a leadoff home run, giving the outfielder his first long ball this month and his eighth overall on the season. Ward also recorded a single in the contest, marking his fourth multi-hit game in May, where he's now batting .261 with three RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 5:34 am
