• Pulled off rehab assignment
Williamson (shoulder) has been pulled off his rehab assignment, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Reds manager David Bell said that Williamson is "still working his way back" from a left shoulder strain. It's not clear whether that means he's had a setback or if the team just doesn't feel he's prepared to get major-league hitters out right now. For what it's worth, Williamson threw four shutout innings, allowed just one hit and showed good velocity in his last rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Tobias Myers to start for Brewers Friday
Brewers RHP Tobias Myers will start on Friday.

Advice: Myers has been up and down from the minor leagues already this season. He has a 5.40 ERA in seven appearances (six starts) at the major league level this year. Myers will take the ball Friday night against the Tigers opposite Reese Olson. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
  • Starting for Milwaukee on Friday
Myers will start Friday's game in Detroit, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Myers was available in relief Wednesday after being recalled from Triple-A Nashville, but since he wasn't needed he'll be thrown back into the rotation this weekend against the Tigers. The 25-year-old has made six starts and one relief appearance for the Brewers this season, posting a 5.40 ERA and 27:10 K:BB over 26.2 innings. Myers could be needed for additional starts after Friday as Milwaukee battles numerous injuries to its rotation. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago
  • Senga to throw bullpen next week
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is set to throw a bullpen session early next week, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Advice: The Mets believe the 31-year-old right-hander is trending in the right direction. A bullpen session would represent significant progress, though Senga is still without a clear timetable for returning. He’s been out all season recovering from a shoulder injury. • Hit hard by Dodgers
Falter (3-3) took the loss Thursday against the Dodgers, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks across four innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Falter's start began and ended poorly, as he yielded four runs in the first inning --including a three-run home run by Freddie Freeman -- before getting pulled after allowing a solo homer to Teoscar Hernandez to lead off the fifth. The outing marked Falter's first time allowing more than three runs since April 29 and snapped a streak of four straight quality starts. Through 68.1 innings, Falter owns a 3.69 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. He's lined up to face the Cardinals in St. Louis on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:54 am
  • Struggles in abbreviated start
Buehler didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: After needing 78 pitches to get through three frames, Buehler didn't come out for the fourth, marking the 29-year-old's shortest start of 2024. He surrendered a two-run home run to Nick Gonzales in the third inning, the right-hander's seventh long ball allowed in 28.0 innings. Buehler's been shaky since returning from Tommy John surgery, yielding exactly three runs in five of his six starts this season to fuel a 4.82 ERA. He's lined up for a home start against the Rangers on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:47 am
  • Nearly perfect in rehab outing
Rodriguez (back) threw three shutout, no-hit innings for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, walking one and striking out four.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander looked just about ready to rejoin the big-league staff, firing 29 of 43 pitches for strikes, and per MLB.com he threw another 15 pitches in the bullpen afterward to get stretched out a little more. That extra work suggests Rodriguez will be a candidate to move back into the rotation once he's activated, but the Blue Jays have yet to determine if he'll need one more rehab start before coming off the IL. • Stuck with loss
Sears (4-5) took the loss Thursday against Seattle, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Sears turned in his fifth quality start of the season Thursday and tied his season high in strikeouts. However, the A's offense mustered up just two hits and didn't score, leaving the left-hander in the loss column for the third time in his last four appearances. While Sears missed plenty of bats, he located just 60 of his 101 pitches in the strike zone and hit a pair of batters. Overall, Sears owns a 3.93 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 73.1 innings this season. He's scheduled to face the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:36 am

  • Mound work coming soon
Senga (shoulder) is expected to throw a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Senga recently had a setback in his recovery from a right shoulder injury when he experienced some tightness in his triceps. He was shut down for a bit after being given a cortisone injection, but he's almost ready to resume mound work. The expectation is that Senga won't make his season debut until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 6:31 am
