  • Set for season debut Wednesday
    Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in an interview with Jomboy Media's Talkin' Yanks podcast Monday that Cole (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to make his season debut Wednesday against the Orioles.

    Advice: Cole has been lights out on his rehab assignment, yielding one earned run with a 19:0 K:BB over 12.1 innings covering three starts. In his final rehab outing with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Cole struck out 10 while allowing just one unearned run across 4.1 frames. The right-hander has been out all season after being diagnosed in mid-March with nerve irritation and edema in his right elbow.     Advice: Jung kicked off a rehab assignment for the Express and played five innings in the field. Texas manager Bruce Bochy previously targeted Jung for 30 at-bats before returning to the major leagues, but the manager acknowledged Sunday to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that it's a fluid situation. "We'll kind of monitor how things are going with him, the at-bats, how his body is bouncing back," Bochy said. "But we don't have a specific number."   • David Hamilton swipes four bases to lead Red Sox
    David Hamilton and the Red Sox ran all over the Yankees in Sunday night’s 9-3 victory over the Yankees, with the 26-year-old speedster nabbing four of his team’s franchise-record nine stolen bases.

    Advice: The Red Sox clearly did not respect the battery of Marcus Stroman and Jose Trevino, and they pushed the envelope against them every chance that they had. Hamilton worked a leadoff walk in the third inning, swiped second base and ultimately scored on a double play ground ball off the bat of Rafael Devers. He then led off the fifth inning with a single and immediately stole second and third base before scoring on Devers’ sacrifice fly. He also added an RBI single and a run scored in the eighth inning. Hamilton finished the night 2-for-4 plus a walk and is now hitting .288/.340/.446 with four homers, 11 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 149 plate appearances on the season.   • Corbin Carroll doesn’t think injury is serious
    Corbin Carroll (ribs) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he doesn’t believe his rib injury is serious.

    Advice: He’ll undergo a precautionary MRI exam in Arizona on Monday before traveling to join the team in Washington. Carroll said he felt much better after Sunday’s game though, and is optimistic that he won’t have to miss any time. We’ll have to wait and see what Monday’s imaging yields.
