    James McArthur allowed two hits, struck out two and picked up his 11th save against the Athletics on Saturday.

    Advice: McArthur allowed back-to-back singles to start the ninth inning before getting Abraham Toro to line out and striking out JJ Bleday.   • William Contreras hits three-run blast vs. Astros
    William Contreras connected on a three-run homer to help the Brewers to a 4-2 win over the Astros on Saturday.

    Advice: Contreras absolutely shellacked a Justin Verlander offering to center — travelling an estimated 428 feet — to give the Brew Crew a 4-1 lead. The 26-year-old backstop has been sensational in 2024 with seven homers, 37 RBI and an OPS of .990. That’s a star level of offense even before you consider that he’s doing it as a catcher.   • Julio Rodríguez collects two hits in win over O’s
    Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 and scored a run as the Mariners rallied to beat the Orioles on Saturday evening in Baltimore.

    Advice: Rodríguez got the Mariners’ first hit on the day by hustling out an infield single off of Grayson Rodriguez in the sixth inning. He then reached on another infield knock to start the eighth inning, and wound up scoring the go-ahead run on an RBI double by Cal Raleigh. The 23-year-old superstar’s bat has shown signs of life this week, but he’s still hitting a disappointing .271/.320/.331 with only two homers, 13 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.   • Tosses quality start Saturday
    Gausman came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

    Advice: The veteran right-hander cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth and allowing all three of his runs. It was a solid bounce-back effort for Gausman after he got tagged for seven runs (six earned) in his last outing, and the quality start was his third of the season.     Yandy Díaz went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two walks against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

    Advice: Díaz started his day with a single to lead off the first inning. He added a base hit in the third and led off the sixth with his third hit before scoring on a single by Amed Rosario. Dìaz reached again in the seventh on a walk and drew another walk in the eighth to reach base in all five plate appearances.     Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI against the Rays on Saturday.

He added a run to the board for Toronto with an RBI-single in the fifth and led off the bottom of the eighth with his third hit of the day.     Kevin Gausman allowed three runs with six strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

    Advice: Gausman had worked around four hits through five scoreless frames before the Rays would get to him in the sixth. Two base hits and a walk would load the bases with two outs. Amed Rosario knocked a single to plate two runs. José Caballero followed with a single to bring in one more before Gausman got out of the inning. He struck out six.
