  • Swanson hits fifth home run Saturday
    Dansby Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Reds on Saturday.

    Advice: Swanson’s two-run home run in the eighth inning was the difference in the Cubs’ 7-5 victory over the Reds. It was his fifth home run of the season. Swanson is due to improve at the plate at some point as his .208 batting average is the worst of his career and his .131 ISO is his worst since his first full MLB campaign in 2017.   • Rodriguez has three-hit game Saturday
    Julio Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI against the Angels on Saturday.

    Advice: Rodriguez started the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and added another RBI single in the sixth inning to put the Mariners ahead 7-0. He’s now up to .273 with 23 RBI on the season. Rodriguez hasn’t lived up to his first round draft status so far this season because his power has nosedived.   • Yandy Díaz triples, drives in three in loss
    Yandy Díaz went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI against the Orioles on Saturday.

    Advice: Díaz brought two runs in to score with a line drive off the right field wall as he legged out a triple in the second inning. He was credited with a third RBI after drawing a bases-loaded walk in the third. The 32-year-old first baseman is slashing .243/.320/.350 with four homers and 28 RBI across 253 plate appearances.   • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swipes base in loss to Bucs
    Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swiped his second base of the season and scored the Blue Jays’ lone run in Saturday’s loss to the Pirates.

    Advice: The 25-year-old slugger smacked a one-out single off of Mitch Keller in the sixth inning, advanced to second on a line drive off the bat of Bo Bichette and scored the Jays’ only run on a two-out RBI single by Dan Vogelbach. He also drew a walk in the opening inning and swiped second base, but was left stranded there. Guerrero finished the day 2-for-3 and is now slashing .292/.390/.406 with five homers, 25 RBI and a pair of stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:58 pm
     
  • Scratched Saturday
    Gurriel was scratched from Arizona's lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Mets.

  • William Contreras picks up three hits in easy win
    William Contreras picked up three hits and drove in a run in a win Friday over the White Sox.

    Advice: Contreras, 26, also scored twice. The Brewers were able to reach 23 times via hit and six times on walks, and somewhat amazingly none of those hits went over the fence. Contreras is one of the best hitting backstops in baseball with a .323 average, .896 OPS, eight homers and four stolen bases across 229 at-bats. Rotoworld Friday, 9:06 pm
     
  • Records fourth steal
    Contreras went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.

    Advice: Contreras has been held hitless just five times over 26 games in May, going 31-for-104 (.298) for the month. The catcher is up to a .323/.394/.509 slash line with eight home runs, four steals, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored, 15 doubles and a triple in 55 contests, so this month has actually been a bit of a cooling off compared to how he started the season.   • Josh Naylor collects two hits in loss to Rockies
    Josh Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Rockies on Wednesday.

    Advice: Naylor brought a run in to score in the first inning with a groundout, then knocked a single in the third. He later doubled to lead off the sixth for his second hit of the day. The 26-year-old first baseman has slowed down considerably after a strong April. Still, eight of his 18 hits this month have left the yard.
