      Kirby Yates earned his eighth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Yates had to tightrope out of danger to earn the save in this one. The righty allowed a two-out walk to Eugenio Suárez only to see a single by Gabriel Moreno move Suárez into scoring position. Fortunately for Yates, a strikeout of Kevin Newman would end the game and secure the win for the Rangers, who have now won back-to-back games after dropping their previous six.       Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

      Advice: Ozuna took Matt Barnes deep 413 feet at 107 mph off the bat to score the first run of the game. It was the only run the Braves would need. The home run was his 16th of the season to go along with 48 RBIs.       Max Muncy (oblique) remains shut down from baseball activities.

      Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Tuesday that Muncy will remain sidelined for a couple more weeks after experiencing discomfort last week in his right oblique.     • Merrill Kelly (shoulder) set to resume throwing
      Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Merrill Kelly (shoulder) will start a throwing program next week.

      Francisco Lindor walloped a two-run homer in the Mets’ extra-inning loss to the Dodgers in the front-end of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

      Advice: Lindor’s two-run tater off Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow represented New York’s lone runs of the contest as they squandered a prime opportunity for a walk-off victory in the ninth inning by wasting a bases-loaded, one-out situation.       Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Kelly (shoulder) is expected to begin a throwing program next week, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

      Advice: The right-hander has apparently been progressing well in his recovery from a right shoulder strain and is now on the cusp of resuming baseball work. Kelly will require some time to build his arm up before progressing to mound work and eventually a rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be expected to rejoin the Diamondbacks until sometime in July.       Freeman went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Monday's loss to the Rockies.

      Advice: Freeman led the game off with a double and scored the first run. He later knocked an RBI single in the second inning and added another double in the ninth. It was his first multi-hit game since going 4-for-4 on May 18. Freeman boosted his slash line to .228/.324/.370 with 15 extra-base hits and 31 runs scored through 189 plate appearances.     • Yields eight runs in loss
      Morton (3-2) took the loss Monday against Washington, allowing eight runs on 12 hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: The 40-year-old Morton allowed a career-high 12 hits in this start as the Nationals laced eight singles, three doubles and one homer. However, he also managed to generate an impressive 18 whiffs en route to his seven punchouts. Overall, the Atlanta veteran owns a 4.29 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 59:23 K:BB in 56.2 innings this season.       Tyler Freeman went 3-for-5 and doubled twice as the Guardians’ leadoff man Monday against the Rockies.

      Advice: Freeman won’t be spending much time in the leadoff spot after Steven Kwan comes off the IL, but he looks like a lineup fixture right now.
