    • Reynaldo López holds A’s to one run in victory
      Reynaldo López limited the A’s to one run in six innings and struck out eight in Atlanta’s 4-2 victory Friday.

      Advice: Another quality start moves him to 3-2 with a 1.73 ERA. That López has had a very light schedule has played some role in his success to date. His 10 starts have seen him face none of the league’s top five offenses by OPS yet each of the bottom four (the Mariners, Pirates, Marlins and White Sox).       The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately reclaim his spot as the Dodgers' closer, a role he thrived in prior to getting injured.     • Dodgers activate Evan Phillips from 15-day IL
      Dodgers activated RHP Evan Phillips from the 15-day injured list.

      Advice: The 29-year-old closer finally returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen after landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. While Daniel Hudson and Blake Treinen did a nice job in his absence, expect Phillips to jump right into the team’s ninth-inning role. On the season, he holds a minuscule 0.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 17/4 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings of work while recording eight saves. Rotoworld Friday, 3:57 pm
       
    • Fans seven in no-decision
      Pepiot allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Oakland on Wednesday.

      Advice: Pepiot appeared on his way to a quality start after giving up one run through five frames, but he was pulled with two outs in the sixth after allowing two batters to reach base, and one came around to score after his departure. Still, this was a positive step forward in the right-hander's second game back following a stint on the injured list.       Lopez won't start Thursday's game against the Nationals, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Lopez pitched on four days of rest for the second time all season Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings -- his shortest start of the season. Rather than sending him to the mound after a traditional four-day rest period again, Atlanta will push his next start back and give the ball to Ray Kerr to close out its current series against Washington. The team hasn't yet announced when Lopez's next start will come, though it's possible he simply moves back a day to start Friday's series opener against the Athletics.       Pete Fairbanks got the victory for the Rays with a scoreless ninth inning before they walked it off in the bottom half. He allowed one hit.

      Ryan Pepiot allowed two earned runs on three hits across 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Athletics. He walked one and struck out seven in a no-decision.

      Advice: Pepiot got back on track Wednesday. He mixed his pitches well - throwing his slider, fastball and changeup each at least 28% of the time - while throwing a first pitch strike to 17 of 21 Athletics’ hitters.       Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Phillips (hamstring) is on track for activation from the 15-day injured list Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

      Advice: Phillips struck out two batters in a perfect inning in his first rehab appearance with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday. He's slated for one rehab outing before rejoining the Dodgers for their weekend series at home against the Rockies, assuming all goes well.       Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Evan Phillips (hamstring) has a good chance to return to the Dodgers on Friday.

      Advice: Phillips has looked the part in his rehab appearances as he works his way back from the hamstring injury that has sidelined the stopper since May 5. Once back on the roster, there’s every reason to believe that Phillips will receive the bulk of the save chances for Los Angeles, with Daniel Hudson and the rest of the Los Angeles bullpen serving as a bridge to Phillips.
