    • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Reds transferred Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand had been on the IL since May 8 with a right ulnar styloid fracture and wasn't expected to begin a rehab assignment anytime soon, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his eventual timeline for a return. According to Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, manager David Bell reiterated Monday that Encarnacion-Strand remains in a bit of a holding pattern in his recovery from the injury. After he had been expected to increase his activity earlier this month, Encarnacion-Strand's rehab progression was put on pause when he sought a second opinion on his wrist from a specialist, who determined that the 24-year-old was dealing with ligament damage. Bell said that the Reds will wait a few more days to see how Encarnacion-Strand's wrist responds to rest before a determination is made on his next step, which could include anything from resuming baseball activities to going under the knife for season-ending surgery. • Corbin Carroll’s MRI comes back clean
According to Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro, Corbin Carroll’s MRI came back clean and he could start on Tuesday against the Nationals.

Advice: Carroll had an MRI on Monday morning that “did not reveal significant damage to his left side,” following a “pulling feeling” the 23-year-old felt while making a throw in the seventh inning on Sunday afternoon. He is now headed to Washington to be with his teammates and “it is possible he will be back in the starting lineup on Tuesday night.” Diamondbacks fans and fantasy managers can let out a sigh of relief. • Pirates send LHP Bruihl to minors
Pirates optioned LHP Justin Bruihl to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: The left-hander was solid in 72 MLB appearances for the Dodgers and Rockies between 2022-2024 with a 4.22 ERA, but the Pirates are sending him down after six appearances that led to a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. He figures to serve as organizational depth for the remainder of the season. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • Back in Colorado lineup
Doyle (knee) will start in center field and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Doyle missed the previous two contests with left patella tendinitis but is feeling well enough to give it a go Monday. The center fielder has collected a .732 OPS with five home runs and 18 stolen bases this season for the Rockies. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
    • Daulton Jefferies back up with Pirates
Pirates recalled RHP Daulton Jeffries from Triple-A Indianapolis

Advice: Jefferies had poor results in two starts for the Giants this season and was traded to the Pirates back on May 10th. In five starts for the Pirates in Triple-A, he has a 6.10 ERA and 1.74 WHIP. He doesn’t figure to be used as a traditional starter for the Pirates and should remain off fantasy radars. Justin Bruihl was sent down in a corresponding move. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago
    • Out of Toronto lineup
Horwitz is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Red Sox.

Advice: Horwitz had started each of the last seven games versus right-handers upon his promotion and batted either first or second in all of those contests, but he will begin this one on the bench as the Red Sox sent righty Nick Pivetta to the hill. Davis Schneider gets the call at second base Monday, with Daulton Varsho handling left field and Kevin Kiermaier center. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago
    • Sitting against lefty
Peralta is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Peralta will hit the bench for the series opener while the Phillies bring southpaw Cristopher Sanchez to the hill. Now that Manny Machado is back to playing third base again after he had previously made four consecutive starts at designated hitter following his return from a four-game absence due to a strained hip flexor, Peralta should have a regular spot in the lineup at DH when the Padres face right-handed pitchers. • Sitting against lefty again
Campusano is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: The Padres seem to have opted for a de facto platoon at catcher of late, even though both Campusano and Kyle Higashioka are right-handed hitters. Higashioka will stick in the lineup Monday for the fourth time in the Padres' last five matchups with lefties, while Campusano will take a seat. Campusano should still see the bulk of the playing time behind the dish as the Padres' preferred option against righties. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago
    • Mets release Tomás Nido
      Mets released C Tomás Nido.

Advice: Nido was designated for assignment last week and went through waivers unclaimed, so the Mets officially released him, He’s not free to sign for another team, and while a few teams like the Rockies and Phillies have recently suffered injuries at catcher, it’s unclear if there will be much interest in a 30-year-old who is a career .214/.251/.313 hitter at the MLB level.
