      Advice: Machado has gone 14-for-38 (.368) over his last 10 contests, adding two homers and eight RBI in that span. The third baseman opened the scoring when he took MacKenzie Gore deep in the first inning Tuesday. Machado is still playing catch-up after a slow start to the campaign, but he's up to a .260/.314/.389 slash line with eight homers, 40 RBI, 34 runs scored and five stolen bases through 76 contests.       Advice: Suarez has converted his last three save chances after a blown save June 18 versus the Phillies. He's now at 20 saves on the year, and he's the fifth pitcher in the majors to reach that milestone in 2024. Of those top-tier closers, Suarez's 1.09 ERA is second only to Cleveland's Emmanuel Clase (0.70). Suarez has also maintained a 0.79 WHIP and 30:6 K:BB over 33 innings this season.       Robert Suarez recorded his 20th save after allowing an unearned run in the ninth Tuesday against the Nationals.

      George Springer went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 9-4 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: It was Springer’s sixth home run of the season and first since June 4th. Springer only has three home runs since April 24th, so we’re not looking at a power surge here. It’s also Springer’s first multi-hit game since June 3rd. It’s certainly nice to see, but the 34-year-old is still just 13-for-78 (.167) in June so we’ll need to see a few more games like this before we believe he’s figuring things out.       Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that Marte (knee) will be sidelined for "at least four weeks," Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

      Advice: Marte will be shut down for 15 days to allow a right knee bone bruise to heal and will need time to ramp things back up after that. A rehab assignment at some point before activation seems likely. Ben Gamel replaced Marte on the roster and could see some reps in right field, although DJ Stewart and Tyrone Taylor should be higher in the pecking order.       Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Starling Marte (knee) is expected to miss at least four weeks.

      Advice: It’s a significant loss for the Mets as Marte finally landed on the injured list ahead of Tuesday’s series opener against the Yankees after playing through a right knee issue for an extended period. The 35-year-old veteran corner outfielder has been diagnosed with a bone bruise and Mendoza indicated that it’ll be at least one month before he’s ready to return.       Astros manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that Verlander (neck) has yet to resume throwing, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Verlander has been shut down for more than a week with neck discomfort and continues to progress more slowly than expected. The veteran right-hander is eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list Monday, but it's too early at this point to know whether he will be ready to go on that day.
