• Jhoan Duran picks up eighth save vs. Royals
Jhoan Duran earned his eighth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Royals.

Advice: Back-to-back hits to kick off the ninth got Duran in trouble early, but he was able to buckle down and retire his remaining batters to earn the win for the Twins, who have now won six of their last seven. Duran now has eight saves on the season and has yet to blow a save in any of his outings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:48 pm

  • Woods Richardson picks up second win vs. Royals
Simeon Woods Richardson allowed two earned runs over five innings, picking up the win on Tuesday against the Royals.

Advice: Woods Richardson allowed two runs in the fifth when Garrett Hampson and Kyle Isbel drove in runs in back-to-back plate appearances. He was far from dominant, but Woods Richardson allowed just five total base runners on the night and had the Twins in position to win he made his exit. Tuesday’s win marks his first since April 13th, as Woods Richardson will now look to pick up his third win on Sunday against the Astros. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 pm
  • Cole Ragans allows three earned runs in loss
Cole Ragans allowed nine hits and three earned runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.

Advice: Ragans ran into trouble in the first inning when he allowed back-to-back hits to his first two batters faced, only to see both players score on a Jose Miranda single a few batters later. Ragans would allow another run in the fourth on a Manuel Margot double, as the left was hit around for much of the evening. His nine hits allowed tied for the second-most he’s allowed on the season, as Ragans has struggled at times to limit base runners despite a solid 3.49 ERA. He walked 30 batters while walking eight this month and is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:36 pm

  • Kirby Yates earns eighth save vs. D-Backs
Kirby Yates earned his eighth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Yates had to tightrope out of danger to earn the save in this one. The righty allowed a two-out walk to Eugenio Suárez only to see a single by Gabriel Moreno move Suárez into scoring position. Fortunately for Yates, a strikeout of Kevin Newman would end the game and secure the win for the Rangers, who have now won back-to-back games after dropping their previous six. • Exits with injury
Megill was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cubs after getting hit in the right arm by a line drive, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Megill entered Tuesday's game in the 10th inning and threw three pitches to Mike Tauchman before getting taking a 99-mph line drive off his right (throwing) arm. Megill immediately came out of the game and will presumably head into the clubhouse for imaging. The Brewers should have more information on his status following Tuesday's contest. • Trevor Megill exits after being hit by line drive
Trevor Megill left Tuesday’s relief appearance against the Cubs with an apparent injury.

Advice: Ouch. Megill was struck on the right elbow by a 99-mph line-drive off Mike Tauchman’s bat in the 10th inning of Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs and immediately left the contest. The 30-year-old righty will likely head for X-rays to determine the extent of the damage. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:28 pm

  • Giants summon Spencer Howard on Tuesday
Giants selected the contract of RHP Spencer Howard from Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Howard will likely factor into San Francisco’s pitching plan for Tuesday’s contest against the Phillies as a bulk reliever. The 27-year-old righty will be making his season debut after re-signing with the Giants last September on a minor league pact. The former notable pitching prospect has made 38 appearances (29 starts) in the big leagues dating back to 2020. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm
  • Promoted, likely to pitch Tuesday
The Giants selected Howard's contract from Triple-A Sacramento, and he's expected to serve as the primary pitcher Tuesday against the Phillies, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Erik Miller is starting Tuesday's contest for the Giants, and Howard is expected to see some bulk innings behind the opener. Howard has showcased his swing-and-miss stuff at Triple-A Sacramento this season with a 13.1 K/9, but his 5.90 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 39.2 innings are otherwise underwhelming. • White Sox summon Jake Woodford for Tuesday start
White Sox selected the contract of RHP Jake Woodford from Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: There’s zero streaming appeal here for fantasy managers given Woodford’s career numbers in the majors as he’ll take the ball on Tuesday evening against the Blue Jays for an emergency spot start in place of an injured Mike Clevinger (elbow). The 27-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 4.29 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 119/63 K/BB ratio across 184 2/3 innings (80 appearances, 18 starts) in the big leagues since 2020. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:10 pm
