    • Fans eight in win
Nelson (4-5) earned the win Friday against the White Sox, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Nelson collected his third quality start of the season as he generated 13 whiffs en route to a season-high eight punchouts. The Arizona righty was especially sharp in this 95-pitch outing, as his entire pitch arsenal displayed increased velocity, led by a slider that was 2.1 mph faster than average. With this one-run performance, Nelson lowered his season ERA to 5.49. He is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Nationals on the road. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

    • Inks minors deal with Atlanta
Carasiti signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Friday.

Advice: Carasiti elected to become a free agent Monday after being DFA'd by the Rockies, and he'll now look to carve out a role for himself with Atlanta. The 32-year-old righty has allowed 10 earned runs in only 8.2 major-league innings this season, so it would likely take a major turnaround at Triple-A Gwinnett for him to spend any amount of time in Atlanta's bullpen. • Eugenio Suárez homers in blowout win
Eugenio Suárez hit a solo homer in a blowout win over the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Suárez swatted a solo shot in the fourth inning off Chris Flexen — his former teammate in Seattle — to give D-Backs a 4-1 lead. It’s been a struggle for the 32-year-old third baseman, as even with the roundtripper he’s hitting only .197/.274/.324. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

    • Miguel Rojas blasts two-run homer vs. Royals
Miguel Rojas hit a two-run homer in a 4-3 win over the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Rojas got the Dodgers back in the game with a two-run shot off an otherwise-effective Cole Ragans. The 35-year-old is better known for his glove than his bat, but this is his third homer of 2024, and his slash of .280/.339/.449 is nothing to sneeze at. That .779 OPS is over 100 points over his career mark of .667, so it’s hard to fathom this keeps up in the second half of the season. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

    • Alex Vesia hurls scoreless inning for save
Alex Vesia picked up a save with a scoreless inning against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Vesia allowed one hit and didn’t issue a walk nor pick up a strikeout. The 28-year-old now has three saves on the season, and the scoreless inning gives him a sparkling 1.13 ERA. The save chances are likely to be limited as long as he remains a Dodger. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

    • Gavin Stone surrenders three over seven vs. KC
Gavin Stone didn’t factor into the decision Saturday against the Royals after allowing three runs over seven innings with three strikeouts.

Advice: Stone allowed four hits and walked two while throwing 61-of-94 pitches in the strike zone. The 25-year-old allowed all three runs on a long roundtripper by Salvador Perez. Minus that gaffe, it was another solid start for Stone against a pretty tough Kansas City lineup. He’s currently scheduled to face the Rockies on Thursday in Colorado. • Knocked around in loss
Flexen (2-6) took the loss Friday against Arizona, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Flexen couldn't avoid Arizona's bats in this outing, yielding a season-high nine hits and generating only six whiffs out of his 75 pitches. The Chicago right-hander now owns a 5.35 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 51:26 K:BB in 67.1 innings this season. Flexen returns home -- where he has been especially poor with a 5.70 ERA over 36.1 innings -- for his next scheduled start against the Astros. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

    • Knocks fourth homer
Friedl went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Brewers.

Advice: Friedl opened the game's scoring with his solo shot in the third inning. He singled and scored in the fifth and knocked in a run during the sixth. Friedl has four home runs this season, all coming over his last 11 games. During that stretch, he's hitting .309 with 12 RBI despite collecting multiple hits only twice. Friedl is slashing .247/.353/.438 through 85 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago
    • Andrew Benintendi reaches three times in loss
Andrew Benintendi went 2-for-2 with a walk in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: He also scored a run. One of Benintendi’s hits was a double, and it sadly improves his slash to .204/.245/.296 as he’s been one of the worst hitters over the first two and a half months of the season. Rotoworld 42 minutes ago
