• J.P. Crawford hits leadoff homer in loss to KC
J.P. Crawford homered and drove in two runs in a loss Saturday to the Royals.

Advice: Crawford didn’t waste any time by homering on the first pitch from Alec Marsh to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. The shortstop also drove in a run with a single in the third to again give the Mariners a lead at 3-2. After a horrible start to the year and missing time with an oblique injury, Crawford is looking more like the breakout hitter of 2023 than his .220/.306/.377 slash might suggest. • Getting breather Saturday
Rocchio isn't in the Guardians' lineup Saturday versus the Marlins.

Advice: Rocchio will get a day off Saturday after hitting the first home run of his MLB career during Friday's loss. Daniel Schneemann will take over at shortstop while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 3:03 pm
  • Sent down to Salt Lake
Paris was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Advice: Paris was called up May 9 to assist in the Angels' infield after Brandon Drury (hamstring) was placed on the injured list. Paris struggled in 58 plate appearances, batting .118 with a 29.3 percent strikeout rate and will hand his spot on the active roster to Michael Stefanic. Rotowire.com Today, 2:36 pm

  • Angels option Kyren Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake
Angels optioned INF Kyren Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: The 22-year-old infielder has been absolutely atrocious in 59 plate appearances for the Angels this season — hitting .118/.224/.216 with one homer, five RBI and a 17/7 K/BB ratio. He’ll return to an everyday role at the Triple-A level until he’s needed once more. Michael Stefanic was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move on Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 2:25 pm

  • Francisco Lindor reaches three times in London opener
Francisco Lindor went 2-for-4 with a walk on Saturday in the Mets’ loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Lindor was one of the few bright spots for the Mets during Saturday’s London Series opener as he wound up reaching base safely in ftrhee of his five plate appearances. The 30-year-old shorstop is batting .300 (6-for-20) with one homer and one steal in six games since June 1. Rotoworld Today, 1:04 pm

  • Adael Amador joins Rockies on taxi squad for now
MLB.com’s Thomas Harding reports Rockies top prospect Adael Amador has joined the club in St. Louis, but no decision has been made whether to officially recall him for his major-league debut.

Advice: Independent journalist Francys Romero reported earlier Saturday that Amador, who has homered six times over his last nine games for Double-A Hartford, was being called up for his debut. That’s on hold at least for the moment with Harding adding that the Rockies are waiting to determine whether Brendan Rodgers hamstring strain is severe enough to require a trip to the injured list. Amador has joined Colorado’s taxi squad, and it’s still possible he could be officially recalled in the coming days. However, for the moment, it doesn’t sound like his debut is imminent. We’ll have additional updates on the developing situation as it unfolds. Rotoworld Today, 12:50 pm

  • Sitting versus southpaw
Wisely isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against Texas.

Advice: With lefty Andrew Heaney set to toe the slab for the Rangers, the lefty-hitting Wisely will step out of the lineup. Tyler Fitzgerald will take over at shortstop, batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 12:31 pm

  • Joining taxi squad
Amador joined the Rockies in St. Louis on Saturday, though the team has yet to formally call him up from Double-A Hartford, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Amador sports a .666 OPS through 208 plate appearances this season with Hartford, but he has slashed .326/.388/.767 with six homers and 14 RBI while also stealing six bases across his last 10 games. With the Rockies waiting to see if Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) will require a trip to the injured list, Amador will remain on the club's taxi squad for the time being. He would likely return to Double-A if Rodgers is able to make a quick recovery. Rotowire.com Today, 12:04 pm

  • Report: Rockies calling up prospect Adael Amador
Independent journalist Francys Romero reports the Rockies are calling up top prospect Adael Amador.

Advice: Amador has been sizzling-hot of late for Double-A Harford, batting .359 with six homers over his last nine games, on the heels of a frosty start to the year. The 21-year-old prodigy possesses excellent bat-to-ball skills, which should lead to high batting averages in Colorado, and is starting to show some additional over-the-fence pop. It’s unclear how long he’ll remain in the majors, but he figures to be worthy of a speculative pickup in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 11:50 am
