• Dodgers option Nick Ramirez back to Triple-A
Dodgers optioned LHP Nick Ramirez to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: The left-hander lasted just one day on the big league roster this time around, giving up three runs on five hits and a pair of walks over 2 1/3 innings against the Reds on Thursday. Ricky Vanasco was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move on Friday to replace him in the Dodgers’ bullpen. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago

  • Placed on IL with oblique strain
The Dodgers placed Muncy on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a Grade 1 right oblique strain.

Advice: Muncy last played Wednesday against the Giants and was left out of the starting lineup Thursday against the Reds. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed that Muncy sustained a Grade 1 right oblique strain during batting practice before Thursday's game, and the veteran outfielder will not swing a bat for two-to-three days, per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. Before landing on the IL, Muncy was slashing .223/.323/.475 with nine home runs and 28 RBI over 167 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

  • Dodgers recall Miguel Vargas from Triple-A OKC
Dodgers recalled INF/OF Miguel Vargas from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: While the versatile 24-year-old saw most of his action in left field at the Triple-A level, the Dodgers have a sudden need at third base with Max Muncy (oblique) landing on the injured list on Friday. Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Friday however that Vargas will play left field while he’s with the big league club. Enrique Hernandez is starting at third base on Friday night and could wind up seeing additional action there. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

  • Dodgers place Max Muncy (oblique) on 10-day IL
Dodgers placed INF Max Muncy on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.

Advice: Well that certainly came out of nowhere. The 33-year-old slugger has been a very capable run-producer in the middle of the Dodgers’ lineup this season — slashing .223/.323/.475 with nine homers and 28 RBI through his first 40 games He’s going to miss at least a couple of weeks — and it could wind up being longer depending on the severity of the strain. Miguel Vargas was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Dodgers recall Ricky Vanasco from Triple-A OKC
Dodgers recalled RHP Ricky Vanasco from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: After a bullpen game from the Dodgers on Thursday night, the team wanted to add a fresh arm to their bullpen mix on Friday and Vanasco was the choice. The 25-year-old hurler has retired all six batters that he has faced with the Dodgers this season across two perfect innings. He’ll function in middle relief. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Dodgers option James Outman to Triple-A OKC
Dodgers optioned OF James Outman to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: With Jason Heyward returning on Friday night, something had to give in the Dodgers’ outfield and Andy Pages was simply hitting too well to be sent down. That left Outman — who was slashing just .147/.250/.266 with three homers, 10 RBI and a pair of swipes — as the odd-man out this time around. He’ll look to get his season back on track at the Triple-A level. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

  • Optioned to Sacramento
The Giants optioned Schmitt to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Schmitt will lose his spot on the big-league roster with Jorge Soler (shoulder) returning from the injured list Friday. Schmitt went just 3-for-22 and drove in one RBI during his brief stint in the majors, though he may return to San Francisco if the Giants need to rely on their organizational infield depth again later this season. • Undergoing season-ending surgery
Lee is set to undergo season-ending surgery in the next few weeks for a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Lee sustained the injury in the top of the first inning of Sunday's game against the Reds when he crashed into the outfield wall while attempting to make a catch. He was placed on the 10-day IL with what was initially labelled as a dislocated left shoulder, but an MRI on Tuesday revealed further structural damage. Lee received multiple opinions on the injury, and season-ending surgery has been ultimately been decided on for the 25-year-old outfielder. Lee signed a six-year, $113 million with the Giants in December of 2023 after seven seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization, and he will end his first season in the majors slashing .262/.310/.331 with four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI over 158 plate appearances. Luis Matos has started in center field in each game since Lee's injury, and the former will reprise that role again Friday against the Rockies. Rotowire.com Today, 3:46 pm

  • Lands on injured list
The Giants placed Winn on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right forearm strain, retroactive to Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Although manager Bob Melvin described Winn's injury as mild, the 26-year-old's MRI results seemingly told a different story. Winn will now be sidelined for at least the next two weeks while Mason Black comes up from Triple-A Sacramento to fill the open spot in San Francisco's rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 3:42 pm
