    • Blasts homer Sunday
Soderstrom went 4-for-8 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored as the Athletics were swept in Sunday's doubleheader versus the Twins.

Advice: Soderstrom had three of his hits, including the homer, during the nightcap. He's hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 13-for-38 (.342) in that span. The 22-year-old is up to a .250/.357/.464 slash line with five homers, 13 RBI, nine runs scored and three doubles over 31 contests. Soderstrom continues to see steady playing time at first base against right-handed pitchers, and he could push for closer to an everyday role if he continues to hit well. • Tyler Soderstrom homers again as A’s fall to Twins
Tyler Soderstrom clubbed his fifth home run of the season on Sunday night as the Athletics dropped the nightcap of their doubleheader against the Twins.

Advice: Soderstrom’s 421-foot (105.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Chris Paddack tied the game at 5-5 in the third inning and chased the Twins’ right-hander from the ballgame. The 22-year-old slugger added an RBI single in the seventh inning, finishing the night 3-for-4. He has been a pleasant surprise in the middle of the A’s lineup this season, slashing .250/.357/.464 with five long balls and 13 RBI in his first 98 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:44 pm
    • William Contreras being evaluated for concussion
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Sunday’s victory over the Reds that William Contreras is being evaluated for a possible concussion.

Advice: Contreras took a glancing blow off of his head or neck on the final play of the game as Blake Perkins nailed the potential tying run at the plate to end the ballgame. The 26-year-old backstop remained on the ground for a few minutes afterwards, but ultimately was able to get up under his own power and was able to celebrate with his teammates. It doesn’t sound like anything serious, but fantasy managers may want to have an alternative option on hand for next week just to be on the safe side. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:43 pm
    • Being evaluated for concussion
Contreras is being evaluated for a concussion following Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Contreras took a shot to the head when he collided with Stuart Fairchild at home plate, applying the tag for the final out of the contest. The catcher was slow to get up, and he'll now undergo some additional testing to determine the severity of the injury. The Brewers will start a three-game series on the road against the Angels on Monday. If Contreras is forced to miss any action, Gary Sanchez would likely take over behind the plate. • Resting Sunday
Stephenson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: He'll get a breather for the series finale after he had started at catcher in each of the Reds' previous four games. Luke Maile will spell Stephenson behind the plate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:50 am
    • Carries offense in loss
Soderstrom went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Soderstrom got Oakland off to a strong start with a two-run blast in the second inning, but the team was unable to add any additional offense thereafter. The long ball gave the suddenly hot first baseman three homers over his past four games and extended his hitting streak to five contests. Soderstrom is slashing .353/.450/.882 with six RBI, five runs and a 3:2 BB:K over that stretch. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:55 am
    • Soderstrom blasts fourth home run Thursday
Tyler Soderstrom went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Soderstrom took Joe Ryan out in the second inning for a two-run home run when Ryan hung a splitter. It was his fourth home run of the season. Soderstrom once again started at first base. Fantasy managers will have to wait for him to get more starts at catcher so he could gain some fantasy relevancy. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:51 pm
    • Goes yard again
Soderstrom went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Soderstrom has homered in back-to-back games, giving him three long balls this season. He's also hit safely in five of his last six contests, going 6-for-17 (.353) in that span. The 22-year-old had struggled to get anything going earlier in the season, but he's now at a .222/.347/.413 slash line with three homers, eight RBI and five runs scored over 75 plate appearances. He appears to have leapfrogged J.D. Davis for the starting role at first base, though Soderstrom would still have the advantage if it ultimately becomes a platoon situation. • Tyler Soderstrom hits game-tying homer in eighth
Tyler Soderstrom went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk versus the Padres on Tuesday.

Advice: Soderstrom has homered in back-to-back games, raising his OPS from .622 to .760, and tonight’s tied the game in the eighth inning. Now that the A’s seem to have committed to Soderstrom at first base against righties, he’s of some interest in leagues in which he qualifies at catcher. He doesn’t yet in traditional leagues, as he spent more time at DH than anywhere else in 45-game stint with the A’s last year. He’s appeared in just one major league game at catcher this season, playing four innings off the bench. Tonight’s start was his 19th at first base. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:23 pm
