    • Records save on Independence Day
Hader earned a save against the Blue Jays on Thursday, allowing one hit in one scoreless inning.

Advice: Hader entered in the ninth inning with Houston holding a two-run lead and immediately allowed a single to bring the tying run to the plate. However, he then induced a double play -- Toronto's fifth double play of the contest -- and needed just nine pitches overall to nail down his 14th save. Despite the successful outing, Hader snapped an eight-game streak of appearances with at least one punchout. He had posted a 14:1 K:BB across eight frames during that stretch. • Converts 16th save
Doval allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Doval has converted his first two save chances in July after a tumultuous June that saw him produce two four-run blowups. He's allowed one run over his last seven innings, converting four of his five save chances in that span. Overall, he's 16-for-19 in saves with a 4.15 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB through 34.2 innings, though his status as the Giants' closer hasn't been threatened. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:07 pm
    • Beeks picks up seventh save Thursday
Jalen Beeks threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings and picked up the save against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: It was Beeks’ seventh save of the year. He had blown his last three save opportunities. Beeks’ save was his first save since May 31st. He has a 4.19 ERA on the season. He has five wins and seven saves on the season, but isn’t the most reliable late inning arm in fantasy. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:54 pm

    • Doval picks up 16th save against Braves Thursday
Camilo Doval tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: The save was his 16th of the season. Doval recorded two strikeouts and allowed one hit in the ninth inning. He has a 4.15 ERA on the season, but continues to be a reliable source of saves for fantasy managers. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:00 pm
    • Collects 22nd save
Suarez allowed a walk during a scoreless inning of relief Thursday to pick up the save against the Rangers. He struck out one.

Advice: Suarez picked up the save for the second consecutive day, giving him 22 in 23 opportunities on the season. Suarez has not allowed a run in 32 of his 35 appearances, posting a season-long ERA of 1.02 with a 0.76 WHIP and 33 strikeouts over 35.1 innings. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:59 pm
    • Robert Suarez quiets Rangers to collect 22nd save
Robert Suarez fired a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Rangers to record his 22nd save of the season.

Advice: Suarez came on to face the bottom of the Rangers’ lineup in the final frame with a two-run lead in hand and immediately got into trouble by issuing a leadoff walk to rookie sensation Wyatt Langford. Fortunately, he was able to get Leody Taveras to ground into a fielder’s choice before striking out Travis Jankowski and coaxing a game-ending ground out from Jonah Heim. He’s converted a staggering 22 of 23 save opportunities this season and figures to be named to the senior circuit’s All-Star Game roster in the coming days. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:12 pm
    • Shawn Dubin starting on Friday against Twins
Shawn Dubin will start on Friday against the Twins.

Advice: The Astros are running out of healthy starting pitching options at this point, so they’ll turn things over to Dubin and presumably let him go as long as possible during Friday’s series opener against the Twins. The 28-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 4.91 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 27/14 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings (15 appearances, one start) this season. He’s obviously not a recommended fantasy option, especially against a red-hot Twins lineup. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:23 pm
    • Drawing another start Friday
Dubin will start Friday's game in Minnesota, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old threw 55 pitches over 3.1 innings in a start against the Mets over the weekend, but that was his first start in either the majors or minors this season. Though Dubin will be making a second straight turn through the rotation, he still could be hard pressed to reach the five innings he would need to qualify for a win. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:09 pm
    • Josh Hader works around hit to pick up save
Josh Hader allowed a hit but no runs while picking up a save Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hader gave up the hit, but worked around it while picking up his 14th save for the surging Astros. The left-hander needed just nine pitches to get through the inning, and six of those went for strikes. There’s every reason to believe Hader will be one of the best closers in baseball during the second half of the 2024 campaign. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:52 pm
