    • Getting day off
Gurriel is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Gurriel will get a breather Friday after making five straight starts in left field. Jake McCarthy will slide to left while Randal Grichuk steps into right field. Rotowire.com Today, 12:28 pm
    • Early exit not related to Soto
Dominguez's (elbow) exit in the eighth inning of Thursday's rehab game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was not related to the injury to Juan Soto (forearm), Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Dominguez's removal was planned, as he has yet to play a full game on his rehab assignment as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. Of course, it's still possible Dominguez could be a potential roster replacement for Soto should the latter need to miss some time. Soto is set to undergo imaging on his left forearm Friday, and the results of that will dictate how the Yankees proceed. Dominguez is slashing .339/.397/.581 with four home runs over 68 plate appearances covering 17 rehab contests. Rotowire.com Today, 11:34 am

    • Getting breather
Smith is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Pittsburgh.

Advice: Smith started the first two games of the series, going 3-for-7 with a double, a walk and an RBI. He will yield to Austin Barnes for the series finale as the Dodgers try to avoid a sweep. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:09 pm

    • Racks up three hits in win
Estrada went 3-for-6 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Estrada missed three games with a jammed thumb to begin June, but he's been strong at the plate on both sides of that minor injury. This was his fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games. The second baseman is up to a .250/.282/.417 slash line with eight home runs, one stolen base, 32 RBI and 33 runs scored over 59 contests this season. The Giants' lineup has been in flux for much of the year due to numerous injuries, but Estrada's been a near-constant presence even amid his early struggles. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:09 pm

    • Provides insurance with homer
Arenado went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: This was Arenado's third homer in his last seven games, doubling his total to six long balls on the year. He's gone 6-for-28 (.214) in that seven-game span as he continues to try and put it all together this season. The veteran third baseman is at a .252/.306/.376 slash line with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases through 58 contests in 2024, numbers far too similar to the down year he posted in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Drives in five Wednesday
Judge went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk and five RBI in Wednesday's 9-5 win against Minnesota.

Advice: Judge broke the game open in the fifth inning, lacing a bases-loaded triple to left field to give New York a 7-0 lead. It was the slugger's first triple since 2019 and just the fifth of his career as a big-leaguer. Judge had already plated a run with a groundout in the first inning, and he added an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the sixth frame to give him his first five-RBI performance of the campaign. He now ranks second in the majors with 54 runs batted in this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:46 pm
    • Aaron Judge drives in five runs as Yanks top Twins
Aaron Judge tripled, walked and drove in five runs on Wednesday night, propelling the Yankees to a 9-5 victory over the Twins.

Advice: Judge got the scoring started in the ballgame with a run-scoring ground out off of Chris Paddack in the opening inning. He then smacked a bases-clearing three-run triple off of Diego Castillo in the fifth then scored on a sacrifice fly by Alex Verdugo. He also walked with the bases loaded in the sixth inning to force in another run that extended the Bombers’ lead to 9-2. The 32-year-old superstar is now hitting a healthy .293/.423/.667 with 21 homers, 54 RBI and four stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:46 pm
    • Nolan Arenado goes deep, Cardinals edge Astros
Nolan Arenado slugged a solo homer on Wednesday, lifting the Cardinals to a 4-2 victory over the Astros.

Advice: Arenado supplied a key insurance run for the Cardinals’ bullpen with a sixth-inning solo shot off Astros starter Ronel Blanco. It was his sixth round-tripper of the season and third time he’s gone deep in his last seven contests since May 28. The 33-year-old remains stuck in one of the most challenging extended power outages of his career, but he’s shown a bit of a spark lately, and might finally be turning things around. We’ll see. • Returns against righty
Lowe started at first base and went 1-for-2 with a walk in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Lowe returned to the starting lineup against a right-hander following three consecutive games on the bench against a lefty. He was eventually removed for pinch hitter Robbie Grossman in the ninth inning against a left-hander. Lowe's line against southpaws in 2024 is down from his career standard -- .619 OPS this season compared to .761 for his career -- but that's still better than the alternative. Ezequiel Duran, who started at first base while Lowe was benched, owns a .604 OPS against lefties in 2024. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:48 am
