    • Josh Naylor collects two hits in loss to Rockies
Josh Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Naylor brought a run in to score in the first inning with a groundout, then knocked a single in the third. He later doubled to lead off the sixth for his second hit of the day. The 26-year-old first baseman has slowed down considerably after a strong April. Still, eight of his 18 hits this month have left the yard. Naylor is hitting .240/.324/.515 with 15 homers and 41 RBI across 225 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:13 pm

    • Josh Naylor homers twice, drives in five in win
Josh Naylor hit two homers to drive in five runs and lead the Guardians to a 13-7 win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: We’ve liked Naylor as a sleeper pick to lead the AL in RBI, but José Ramírez, batting one spot ahead of him, just isn’t cooperating thus far; Ramírez leads the majors with 56, while Naylor is third in the AL with 40. We’re still not sure whether Naylor has really gotten hot yet. On the one hand, his 15 homers in 52 games are just two fewer than he hit in 121 games last season. On the other, his .234 average is down 74 points from last year’s .308 mark. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:49 pm

    • Powers up in win
Naylor went 2-for-4 with two home runs, a walk, five RBI and three total runs scored in Tuesday's 13-7 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Naylor entered Tuesday 0-for-14 over his last three games, and he hadn't logged a multi-hit effort since May 9. Consider the slump busted, as the first baseman tagged starter Ryan Feltner for a two-run blast in the fifth inning before taking reliever Matt Carasiti deep with a three-run shot in the eighth. Naylor is already up to 15 homers through 52 contests this year, just five long balls shy of matching his career high from 2022. He's added a .234/.321/.510 slash line with 40 RBI, 30 runs scored and three stolen bases. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:48 pm

    • Getting day off
Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Boston.

Advice: After making five straight starts, Mountcastle will take a seat Tuesday. The first baseman has generated a hit in six straight games, going 11-for-25 (.440) with five runs scored and four doubles. Ryan O'Hearn will play first base and bat third while Kyle Stowers fills the DH spot and bats seventh. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:25 pm

    • Ryan Mountcastle gets Tuesday off vs. Red Sox
Ryan Mountcastle is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Orioles.

Advice: Mountcastle will get a day off against Brayan Bello and the Red Sox. Kyle Stowers is the designated hitter for the Orioles with Ryan O’Hearn lined up at first base. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:19 pm

    • Racks up three hits
Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 11-3 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Mountcastle has hit safely in his last six games, going 11-for-25 (.440) in that span. During the streak, he has a double in four of those six games, though he's added just two RBI and has not hit a home run since May 8. Nonetheless, the first baseman is putting together a strong campaign with a .280/.317/.468 slash line, six homers, 20 RBI, 28 runs scored, 15 doubles, one triple and two stolen bases over 47 games. • Triston Casas on track to start swinging next week
Triston Casas (rib) told reporters Saturday that he’s on track to resume swinging a bat next week.

Advice: Casas has been on the shelf, and unable to resume hitting at all, since suffering torn cartilage in his left rib cage back in mid-April. The 24-year-old slugger doesn’t have a firm return timetable yet, but the fact that he’ll resume swinging soon provides some optimism that he’ll be ready to return when first eligible on June 21. • Taking grounders
Casas (ribs) took grounders at first base Friday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Casas began throwing during Boston's previous homestand and has also been running and lifting. The next step for Casas will be swinging a bat, which requires rotation and puts more stress on the ribs and torso. No target date has been set for that yet. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:09 am

    • Smacks 13th homer
Naylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 10-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Naylor entered Friday having gone 2-for-21 (.095) with five strikeouts over his last six contests. He snapped his power drought with a fourth-inning blast off Angels starter Patrick Sandoval. Naylor was one of the Guardians' most consistent hitters in April, but he's tailed off in May. He's slashing .247/.337/.517 with 13 homers, 35 RBI, 27 runs scored and three stolen bases over 202 plate appearances overall. Naylor occupies a spot in the heart of the lineup, giving him a solid floor for run production even when he's scuffling. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:42 pm
