    • On Bereavement List
Anderson was placed on the Bereavement List Friday.

Advice: Anderson will be away from the team as he tends to personal matters. While he's absent, Vidal Brujan should handle most of the work at shortstop. Anderson is slashing just .188/.221/.206 in 172 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com 1 minute ago

    • Early exit not related to Soto
Dominguez's (elbow) exit in the eighth inning of Thursday's rehab game with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was not related to the injury to Juan Soto (forearm), Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Dominguez's removal was planned, as he has yet to play a full game on his rehab assignment as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery. Of course, it's still possible Dominguez could be a potential roster replacement for Soto should the latter need to miss some time. Soto is set to undergo imaging on his left forearm Friday, and the results of that will dictate how the Yankees proceed. Dominguez is slashing .339/.397/.581 with four home runs over 68 plate appearances covering 17 rehab contests. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

    • Pulled off rehab assignment
Williamson (shoulder) has been pulled off his rehab assignment, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Reds manager David Bell said that Williamson is "still working his way back" from a left shoulder strain. It's not clear whether that means he's had a setback or if the team just doesn't feel he's prepared to get major-league hitters out right now. For what it's worth, Williamson threw four shutout innings, allowed just one hit and showed good velocity in his last rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. • Tobias Myers to start for Brewers Friday
Brewers RHP Tobias Myers will start on Friday.

Advice: Myers has been up and down from the minor leagues already this season. He has a 5.40 ERA in seven appearances (six starts) at the major league level this year. Myers will take the ball Friday night against the Tigers opposite Reese Olson. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
    • Expected to join Toronto
Horwitz is expected to join the Blue Jays in Oakland on Friday prior to the beginning of their series versus the Athletics, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: He will presumably be added to the roster, although it's unclear what the corresponding transaction will be. Horwitz has been on fire of late at Triple-A Buffalo, going 16-for-36 with a pair of home runs. He's also played mostly second base over that stretch, and that could be a path to playing time for him with the big club if the Jays would prefer to use Davis Schneider more in left field. • Swipes bag Thursday
Vargas went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run in Thursday's 11-7 victory versus Pittsburgh.

Advice: Vargas started in left field and batted eighth in the order. He hit safely in his fourth straight game with a fourth-inning double and also stole a base and scored after reaching on a fielder's choice in the fifth. Vargas has held his own with a .250/.318/.550 slash line, one homer, three doubles, three RBI, five runs and a steal over 22 plate appearances this season. He's currently on the short side of a platoon with Jason Heyward -- Vargas has started each of Los Angeles' past three games against a left-handed starter while sitting out the team's past four contests against a right-hander. • Rays activate INF Walls from 60-day IL
Rays activated INF Taylor Walls from the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Tampa Bay designated Harold Ramirez for assignment to make room for Walls, who has been on the injured list all season as he recovered from offseason hip surgery. Walls figures to come off the bench for the Rays and see most of his playing time against left-handed pitching. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Rays designate OF Ramirez for assignment
Rays designate OF Harold Ramirez for assignment.

Advice: Ramirez was DFA’d to make room for INF Taylor Walls, who is being activated from the injured list. He hit .268 with one home run and 13 RBI in 164 at-bats with Tampa Bay this year. The Rays have seven days to trade Ramirez or place him on waivers. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago
    • Activated from 60-day IL
The Rays activated Walls (hip) from the 60-day injured list Friday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Walls has been out all season following offseason hip surgery and had to be shut down for a while at one point due to inflammation in the hip. However, he recently got back up to speed in a five-game rehab stint with Triple-A Durham, going 8-for-21 at the plate. Walls could take some playing time away from Jose Caballero at shortstop but mostly likely will operate primarily in a utility role. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago
