    • Blue Jays put closer Jordan Romano (elbow) on IL
Blue Jays placed RHP Jordan Romano on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

Advice: Romano heads to the injured list after being unavailable Friday due to elbow soreness. The 31-year-old stopper underwent an MRI on Friday that didn’t reveal any structural damage, which is an encouraging development. There should be a clearer timetable for his return at some point in the coming days once he’s cleared to resume throwing. Fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least a few weeks. It’ll most likely be Yimi García or Chad Green taking over as Toronto’s temporary closer for now. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:50 am

    • Yields run, earns save
Iglesias allowed a run in the ninth inning while picking up a save against Oakland on Friday.

Advice: Iglesias notched his 14th save of the year with a fascinating outing. He gave up a leadoff double to Zack Gelof before recording three outs on three consecutive pitches. Gelof would come in to score after two straight groundouts but Atlanta secured the 4-2 win. Iglesias has converted six straight save chances and owns a 2.53 ERA through 21.1 innings. • Nursing sore elbow
Romano wasn't available for Friday's game against the Pirates due to elbow soreness, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Advice: Manager John Schneider said Romano's elbow has not recovered properly following his last outing Wednesday against the White Sox. The team is officially labeling his injury as "soreness" for now, but the Jays should have a better idea of what Romano is dealing with ahead of Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old righty has not looked like his usual self this season, posting a 6.59 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 13.2 innings. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:28 pm

    • Jordan Romano (elbow) unavailable on Friday night
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters after Friday’s game that Jordan Romano was unavailable due to elbow soreness.

Advice: The right-handers’ elbow didn’t bounce back after his last outing against the White Sox, which is seemingly cause for concern. The Blue Jays are playing it as a day-to-day situation for the time being, but it’s something that fantasy managers should be sure to keep a close eye on. Rotoworld Friday, 8:24 pm

    • Raisel Iglesias earns 14th save against A’s
Raisel Iglesias picked up his 14th save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the A’s.

Advice: Zack Gelof doubled to start the inning and came around to score on a pair of groundouts. Fortunately, Iglesias was working with a three-run lead, so this one was never really in doubt. He’s 14-for-16 saving games this season. Rotoworld Friday, 7:25 pm
    • Fans nine batters in defeat
Pivetta (2-4) took the loss against Detroit on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Pivetta's nine punchouts were his most since his season debut March 29, and the outing was a nice bounce-back from his five-run, 3.1-inning start his previous time on the mound. However, Boston's offense couldn't generate any runs, saddling the right-hander with his fourth loss. Pivetta has had a couple poor starts this season, but he's allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his seven appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:49 pm

    • Nick Pivetta strikes out nine, still takes loss
Nick Pivetta struck out nine while allowing just two runs over 5 2/3 innings, but still was charged with a loss Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: Pivetta gave up only three hits while walking two. He allowed a solo homer to Akil Baddoo, and another run crossed on an RBI single from Mark Canha. The right-hander has struck out at least eight batters in three of his last four chances, and he’s given up no more than two runs in those outings. Pivetta can drive fantasy managers mad with the occasional clunker, but the strikeouts are usually there. He’ll take a 4.08 ERA into his next scheduled outing against Atlanta on Wednesday. • Grabs save Wednesday
Romano allowed one run on one hit and struck out one over one inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Romano had enough of a cushion that he was able to get away with allowing a solo home run to Korey Lee. This was the second outing in a row in which Romano's given up a homer. The right-hander is 8-for-9 in save chances this season while pitching to a shaky 6.59 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB over 13.2 innings. He's yet to go more than two outings in a row without giving up a run, so while he remains the Blue Jays' closer, his appearances have often included a dash of drama. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:21 pm

    • Jordan Romano grabs save despite home run
Jordan Romano surrendered a solo home run and struck out a batter in a save against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer was the fourth Romano has allowed as he continues his shaky season. It would’ve been nice to see a clean outing in this one, especially on the heels of his implosion in Detroit on Sunday. Yimi García continues to outperform Romano in a set-up role, but it’s worth noting García’s velocity was down more than a tick in his inning of work in this game. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:56 pm
