    • Remains leadoff against righties
Carroll batted leadoff and went 1-for-5 with a run scored in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Carroll was moved down to the eighth in the order the last two games, but that is an adjustment against left-handers only. Last year's NL Rookie of the Year continues to struggle overall, slashing .192/.278/.279 through 259 plate appearances. There are indicators to explain his issues -- fewer barrels and an increase in pop-up rate jump out -- but he's retained good plate discipline and luck appears to be a factor. Carroll's .237 BABIP ranks 142nd among 154 qualified hitters in MLB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:02 am
    • Racks up three hits in win
Estrada went 3-for-6 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Estrada missed three games with a jammed thumb to begin June, but he's been strong at the plate on both sides of that minor injury. This was his fourth multi-hit effort in his last six games. The second baseman is up to a .250/.282/.417 slash line with eight home runs, one stolen base, 32 RBI and 33 runs scored over 59 contests this season. The Giants' lineup has been in flux for much of the year due to numerous injuries, but Estrada's been a near-constant presence even amid his early struggles. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:09 pm

    • Homers again Wednesday
Lewis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Lewis homered in his return from a lengthy absence due to a quad injury Tuesday, and he left the yard again Wednesday in his second game back. The third baseman has played in just three contests this season, but he's maximized his opportunities with a long ball in each of those games. Altogether, he's gone 4-for-7 with the three homers, three RBI and two walks across nine plate appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:06 pm
    • Launches grand slam
India went 1-for-3 with a grand slam, a walk and five total RBI in a 12-7 win over the Rockies.

Advice: India cut the Reds' deficit to 7-6 with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning before breaking the game open with a grand slam off Angel Chivilli in the ninth, extending the lead to 12-7. After a slow start, India's started to turn things around at the plate -- he has at least one hit in nine of his last 12 games, going 14-for-36 (.389) with 13 RBI in that span. Overall, the 27-year-old second baseman is slashing .242/.358/.347 with four homers, 24 RBI, 24 runs scored and five stolen bases through 55 games this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:22 pm
    • Royce Lewis homers again in loss to Yankees
Royce Lewis homered for the third consecutive game on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Twins past the Yankees.

Advice: Lewis went deep on opening day and then crushed another homer in his return from the injured list on Tuesday. He followed that up with a 373-foot (100.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Dennis Santana in the seventh inning that pulled the Twins to within six runs at 9-3. He finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .571/.667/1.857 with three homers and three RBI through his first three games on the season. He just needs to stay healthy. • Jonathan India hits grand slam, Reds sweep Rox
Jonathan India slugged a three-run homer and tallied five RBI on Wednesday, leading the Reds to a 12-7 comeback victory over the Rockies.

Advice: India followed teammate Spencer Steer’s go-ahead two-run homer off Rockies stopper Jalen Beeks in the ninth inning with a grand slam to left field against rookie Angel Chivilli later in the frame to put the cherry on top of Cincinnati’s six-run explosion. He also added a sacrifice fly earlier in the contest to match a career-high with five RBI in the comeback win, which gave the Reds a much-needed sweep of a three-game series at Coors Field. • Sitting out Wednesday
Murphy (elbow) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Boston.

Advice: Murphy departed Tuesday's 8-3 win after being struck on the right elbow by a pitch. X-rays came back negative, and Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the swelling on the elbow has mostly subsided. Murphy could be ready to go as soon as Thursday, but Travis d'Arnaud will fill in at catcher for Atlanta on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:41 am
    • Homers in return from quad injury
Lewis went 1-for-1 with a home run and two walks in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.

Advice: He got the start at third base in just his second game of the season after being injured Opening Day and missing nearly 10 weeks due to a strained right quad. Lewis is remarkably 3-for-3 with two home runs in those two games. It was a good sign for his health that he played defense as opposed to being eased into action at DH, but Lewis figures to get a day or two off over the next week as he gets back up to full speed. • Reaches base three times
Pena went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Pena entered Tuesday's game having failed to tally an extra-base hit in 10 straight starts. He ended that drought with an RBI double in the third inning and also drove in a run on a sacrifice fly one frame later. Pena is now hitting .302 with five home runs and nine stolen bases across 251 plate appearances on the campaign. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:10 am
