    • Paredes blasts 10th home run in win Thursday
Isaac Paredes went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Paredes started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning. The home run was his 10th of the season and he’s now up to 32 RBI. Paredes is now hitting a solid .295 with a .890 OPS on the year.

    • Still in walking boot
Blackburn (foot) remains in a walking boot and will likely be reevaluated when the Athletics return to begin their next homestand Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander appears to still be some time away from returning if this latest report is any indication, considering he'll need to presumably go through at least a throwing progression that includes multiple bullpen sessions before being considered for activation. Blackburn's placement on the injured list is retroactive to May 11, but at this point, he appears to be tracking for a mid-June return at the earliest. Rotowire.com Today, 10:10 am

    • Racks up 16th hold
Harvey gave up a hit and struck out three over 1.1 scoreless innings Wednesday to record his 16th hold of the season in a win over Atlanta.

Advice: The 29-year-old righty is second in the majors in holds behind the Cardinals' JoJo Romero, who has 18. Harvey has stayed healthy so far in 2024 and produced dominant numbers with a 2.22 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 33:6 K:BB through 28.1 innings, but he has yet to pick up a save due to Kyle Finnegan also remaining sharp as the Nationals' closer. • Another strong outing in win
Lugo (9-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Twins, allowing one run on six hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings.

Advice: Lugo won five of his six starts in May, allowing just nine runs (eight earned) over 40.1 innings in the month. This was just the fourth time in 12 starts Lugo has allowed nine or more baserunners, as he's been one of the most dominant pitchers in the majors this season. The right-hander is now at a 1.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 66:18 K:BB over 78.1 innings this season. Lugo's next start is projected to be at Cleveland in a battle between the AL Central's two best teams. • Headed for MRI
Manoah will receive an MRI on his right elbow Thursday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manoah allowed one hit and struck out three batters in 1.2 innings Wednesday versus the White Sox before right elbow discomfort forced him out of the game early. The Blue Jays will wait for the results of his MRI before making any decisions, but there is a chance the 26-year-old righty will require a trip to the injured list. • Alek Manoah (elbow) set to undergo MRI on Thursday
Blue Jays’ manager John Schneider told reporters after Wednesday’s game that Alek Manoah will undergo an MRI exam on his injured right elbow on Thursday.

Advice: Manoah suffered the injury during the second inning of his start against the White Sox on Wednesday. The 26-year-old hurler has pitched well in his five starts for the Jays this season, compiling a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 26/8 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings. Expect the Jays to provide another update on his status — and perhaps a timeline for his return — after Thursday’s exam. All fantasy managers can do in the meantime is hope for the best. • Seth Lugo with another quality start, victory
Seth Lugo stayed on track allowing just one earned run across six innings in a 6-1 win over the Twins. He struck out five and walked three.

Advice: Lugo continued his stellar season earning his ninth win. He only induced nine whiffs and the Twins made plenty of hard contact with nine hard-hit balls, but Lugo once again managed to limit damage. He continues to mix eight pitches and saw his ERA drop to 1.72 in what’s been one of the biggest surprises of the young season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:18 pm

    • Alek Manoah leaves start with right elbow issue
Alek Manoah was pulled from Wednesday’s start against the White Sox due to discomfort in his right elbow.

Advice: Ugh, that’s never what you want to hear. The 26-year-old hurler had been pitching well too — allowing just one hit and striking out three batters over his first 1 2/3 innings. He’ll head for additional tests and imaging to determine the severity of the issue, but you would have to think that a trip to the injured list is coming. It’s a tough break for someone who worked so hard to claw his way back to the Blue Jays’ rotation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:03 pm

    • Exits with trainer
Manoah was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox in the second inning due right elbow discomfort.

Advice: The severity of Manoah's injury isn't immediately apparent, but it was enough to warrant his removal after recording just five outs Wednesday. He is tentatively scheduled to pitch again Tuesday against the Orioles, though a clearer picture of his status for that game will come once the Jays are able to take a closer look at him.
