• Day off Tuesday
Campusano is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Campusano will hand over catching duties to Kyle Higashioka for the second time in the last three days. After enduring a 1-for-13 (.076) stretch at the plate, Campusano has rebounded with hits in three straight games, tallying five Rbi and a pair of runs scored in that stretch. • Could remain out until next week
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Tuesday that Carpenter's (oblique) rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis could be extended through the weekend, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Carpenter had a couple potential rehab games with Double-A Springfield rained out, so the team would like to see him make up for that lost time. Barring a setback, it sounds like he should be activated early next week when the Cardinals are on the road playing the Angels. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • Out again Tuesday
Bader is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in St. Louis.

Advice: It's the second straight day Bader has been out of the lineup, although he did contribute a pinch-hit double Monday (before being thrown out on the bases). Brandon Nimmo is in center field and DJ Stewart will occupy left. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Alek Thomas to undergo MRI on left hamstring
Alek Thomas will undergo an MRI after experiencing renewed left hamstring discomfort.

Advice: Thomas hasn’t felt right since Sunday’s rehab game with Triple-A Reno and will undergo some additional testing to determine the extent of the issue. The 24-year-old outfielder has been on the shelf since early April recovering from a left hamstring strain. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week, if not sooner. • Sliding back to setup role
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Ginkel will go back to a setup role upon the return of Paul Sewald (oblique), Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Lovullo wants to throw Sewald back into the closer role immediately, saying that if a save opportunity should arise Tuesday, it would go to Sewald. Ginkel filled in admirably as the temporary closer, going 5-for-7 in save chances while posting a 2.57 ERA and 14:3 K:BB over 14 innings. Certainly, it's a major hit to his fantasy value as he shifts back to being a setup man. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago
  • Darell Hernaiz leaves game Tuesday with injury
Darell Hernaiz made an early exit from Tuesday’s game against the Rangers with an apparent leg injury.

Advice: Hernaiz stepped awkwardly on first base while attempting to beat out an infield hit during Tuesday’s one-sided affair against the Rangers and was immediately lifted from the contest. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Early exit with injury
Hernaiz was pinch-run for and limped off the field after stepping awkwardly on first base Tuesday against Texas, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hernaiz's day will be done after sustaining what appeared to be a lower left leg injury trying to beat out an infield hit in the second inning. While he managed to beat the throw, Hernaiz was replaced by Max Schuemann and won't return to Tuesday's contest. The A's have a double-header with the Rangers on Wednesday then will have a day off before a three-game set against the Mariners. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

  • Wenceel Pérez returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Guards
Wenceel Pérez (illness) has returned to the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Guardians.

Advice: Pérez is back in center field and batting second for Tuesday’s contest at Progressive Field following a two-game absence due to illness. The 24-year-old has gotten off to an encouraging start in his big-league debut, batting .296 with three homers and two steals in 19 games since being called up back in early April.
