    • Ronel Blanco starting Sunday against Tigers
Ronel Blanco will start Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: There was talk that Blanco would get some extra rest before making his next outing, but the right-hander will work on regular rest for the finale against Detroit. Assuming the rotation stays the same after this start, his next outing would come against the Orioles. Rotoworld Today, 8:31 am

    • Drawing start Sunday
Blanco will start Sunday's game against the Tigers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Heading into the weekend, Blanco wasn't expected to make a start against the Tigers, but he ended up getting pushed up in the pitching schedule after Justin Verlander had his turn in the rotation skipped due to a neck injury. As a result of the change in the pitching schedule, Blanco no longer lines up for two starts during the upcoming week. After Sunday's outing, the right-hander is on track to make his next start next weekend versus the Orioles in Houston. Rotowire.com Today, 8:12 am

    • Struggles with long ball
Pepiot (4-4) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings in a loss to Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Pepiot looked to be on his game with four scoreless innings to begin his outing, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, the right-hander gave up three home runs -- all with two out -- to account for five Atlanta runs. It marked the first time this season Pepiot has given up three home homers in a game, and the long balls prevented him from finishing five frames for the third time this season. The five runs Pepiot allowed Saturday were the most he's given up in an outing since his season debut against Texas on April 1. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:30 pm

    • Ryan Pepiot undone by HRs against Atlanta
Ryan Pepiot allowed five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings against the Braves on Saturday.

Advice: Pepiot allowed seven hard-hit baseballs on the day and three home runs which accounted for seven runs. The right-hander did produce a 26 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW which helped him strike out four. However, he also walked three in what was an uneven effort overall. His first season in Tampa has not gone as smoothly as hoped. While he has flashed upside, he also has a 4.57 ERA but he has a good chance to turn that around next week against the Pirates. • Fans 12 in no-decision
King came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out 12.

Advice: The right-hander set a season high in Ks and took a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning, but after allowing back-to-back singles to begin the frame, King left the mound and watched as Wandy Peralta let both inherited runners cross the plate. King hasn't been tagged for more than three runs in any of his last five starts, posting a 2.20 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 34:8 K:BB in 28.2 innings over that stretch. He'll face a much tougher test in his next outing, on the road early next week in Philadelphia. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:26 am

    • Labors in no-decision
Assad did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Assad opened with two scoreless frames then allowed a run in the third on a double by Isaac Paredes and another on a solo home run by Jose Siri in the fourth. With two runners on and two outs in the fifth, Assad was pulled at 90 pitches with a 2-1 deficit. Since his last win on May 15, Assad has failed to reach six innings or record a win in five straight outings and has seen his ERA climb from 1.49 to 2.81. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Giants next Monday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:44 pm

    • Javier Assad lifted in fifth versus Rays
Javier Assad was lifted after allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Tyson Miller stranded two runners after taking over for Assad in the fifth. After opening the season 4-0 with a 1.49 ERA in nine starts, Assad has gone 0-2 with a 5.32 ERA in his last five turns. The truth for Assad is somewhere in between, of course, but it’s probably a little closer to the latter than the former. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:14 pm

    • Michael King strikes out 12 on Wednesday vs. A’s
Michael King struck out a season-high 12 and allowed two runs over five innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Athletics.

Advice: King turned in one of his best outings of the year, generating an eye-popping 19 swinging strikes -- including 15 combined on his changeup and sweeper combination — and finished with a near-elite 39 percent CSW. The 29-year-old righty has allowed three earned runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts since May 4. He’ll bring a solid 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 95/34 K/BB ratio across 83 innings (15 appearances, 14 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Tuesday against the red-hot Phillies. • Dominates Giants for sixth win
Blanco (6-2) got the win over the Giants on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings.

Advice: Blanco matched his season high with eight strikeouts. His lone blemish on the night was allowing a solo home run to Brett Wisely in the third inning. It was an encouraging bounceback effort from the 30-year-old after allowing eight runs and combining to strike out eight over his prior two starts coming into Tuesday's game. Blanco now owns a 2.67 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 67:28 K:BB in 70.2 innings and lines up for an enticing matchup against the White Sox early next week. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:14 am
