      Spencer Steer went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI on Friday night as the Reds fell to the Tigers in the opening game of their three-game weekend series.

      Advice: Steer got the Reds on the board in the fifth inning with a mammoth 425-foot (106.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Reese Olson. He also plated a run with an RBI single off of Jason Foley in the ninth inning and scored on Nick Martini’s RBI triple. The right-hander was then able to get Vinnie Pasquantino to ground out for the final out of the game, securing his 14th save of the season.       Bassitt (7-7) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

      Advice: Bassitt got off to a terrible start in allowing six of the first seven batters he faced to reach base, resulting in three Astros runs. The veteran hurler bounced back to give up just one more run over the remainder of his five frames, but the first-inning damage was enough to send him to his seventh loss of the season. Bassitt had been rolling coming into Thursday, posting a 1.41 ERA across his previous five starts, and the four runs he yielded against Houston were his most since he gave up seven runs against the Dodgers on April 26. Bassitt's overall numbers this season have been pretty much in line with what fantasy managers have come to expect from him -- he has a 3.43 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 94:41 K:BB across 102.1 frames.       Zac Gallen allowed three runs over four innings Thursday in his start versus the Dodgers.

      Advice: The results weren’t great, but Gallen’s velocity tonight was even better in his first start back from the IL; he averaged 95.9 mph on his fastball, up from 95.2 mph last time out and 92.9 mph in the 11 starts before he went on the IL.       Advice: Steer gave the Reds a 5-0 lead with his three-run blast to the short porch in right field in the fifth inning. The long ball was his 11th of the campaign, and he's just shy of the halfway point to reaching the 23 homers he hit last season.
