    • Moved to 60-day IL
Javier (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: This was merely procedural to free up a 40-man spot. Javier underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this month and will miss extended time, including perhaps all of 2025. Luis Contreras was called up in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 9:16 am

    • Cristian Javier (elbow) moved to 60-day IL
Astros transferred RHP Cristian Javier from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: It’s a move that creates room on the 40-man roster for Luis Contreras. Javier will miss the remainder of the 2024 season and likely a portion of 2025 while he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Rotoworld Today, 9:02 am

    • Bo Bichette (calf) remains out Sunday vs. CLE
Bo Bichette (calf) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt against the Guardians.

Advice: Bichette missed Saturday’s game due to tightness in his right calf, and the 26-year-old shortstop will be out at least one more game due to the trouble. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will get another start at shortstop while Ernie Clement handles the hot corner. Bichette is still considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Today, 8:02 am

    • Remains out of lineup Sunday
Bichette (calf) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: He was able to play through it for few days, but this is now a second straight absence for Bichette due to right calf soreness. It's uncertain whether he's available off the bench. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will draw a start at shortstop with Ernie Clement at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 7:58 am

    • Belts 11th homer
Olson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run in a 9-2 win against Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Advice: Olson was part of a big fifth inning for Atlanta, swatting the team's third and final homer in the frame. The first baseman extended his hitting streak to nine contests, a stretch during which he is batting .361 (13-for-26) with two home runs and five RBI. Olson's 11 homers are second-most on Atlanta but are well off the pace of the 54 long balls he belted last season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:04 pm

    • Huge day at plate
Greene went 4-for-5 with one walk, two home runs and six RBI in Saturday's 13-5 win over the Astros.

Advice: Greene was a beast in this contest. He contributed a solo shot in the first inning, a three-run blast in the second and an RBI single in the third as the Tigers jumped out to a 10-0 lead. His sixth RBI of the day came on a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. The outfielder has driven in 12 runs during his six-game hitting streak and he's batting .321 (17-for-53) in June. The 23-year-old is up to 14 homers, 36 RBI, 48 runs scored, three stolen bases and a .256/.348/.488 slash line through 69 contests overall as he continues to cement himself as a building block for the Tigers during their ongoing rebuild. • Joe Musgrove (elbow) could resume throwing soon
Padres’ manager Mike Shildt said Friday that Joe Musgrove (elbow) could resume throwing soon.

Advice: The 31-year-old hurler is dealing with elbow inflammation and soreness in his right triceps — and was given a cortisone shot and PRP injection after an MRI revealed that a bone spur was causing his issues. Shildt didn’t give any specifics regarding a specific timeline for Musgrove’s return, but if he starts throwing soon that’s at least an encouraging sign. He shouldn’t be expected back until after the All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:25 pm

    • Riley Greene homers twice in win
Riley Greene went 4-for-5 with two home runs, six RBI and two runs scored in a 13-5 win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Greene didn’t hit for a ton of power last year while recovering from a shoulder injury, so there was a narrative that he was more of a slap hitter, but that was never the case. The 23-year-old is now up to 14 home runs on the season to go along with 36 RBI and a .836 OPS. He looks to be in the midst of a full-on breakout and has a bright fantasy future ahead of him. • Could resume throwing soon
Padres manager Mike Shildt said Friday that Musgrove (elbow) is getting closer to picking up a ball and starting a throwing program, per MLB.com.

Advice: Musgrove was diagnosed with a bone spur in his right elbow in early June and consequently received PRP and cortisone injections. While Shildt said Friday that the veteran pitcher could resume throwing soon, he didn't give specifics on a timeline. Given that Musgrove dealt with a similar injury in May, the Padres are unlikely to rush him back, and he's probably at least a month away from a return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:16 pm
