    • Getting breather Wednesday
Kim is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Though double-play partner Xander Bogaerts will be in store for a long-term absence after he was diagnosed Wednesday with a fractured shoulder, Kim's absence from the lineup appears to be little more than a maintenance day. Tyler Wade will cover shortstop in Kim's stead. Rotowire.com Today, 1:52 pm

    • Back in Seattle lineup
Polanco (hamstring) will start at second base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Polanco missed more than a week with a right hamstring injury, though he has been available off the bench for a couple days. The switch-hitter is sporting a disappointing .192/.298/.308 in his first season with the Mariners. Rotowire.com Today, 1:41 pm

    • Jorge Polanco (hamstring) returns to M’s lineup
Jorge Polanco (hamstring) finally returned to the Mariners’ starting lineup on Wednesday after missing seven consecutive games.

Advice: The 30-year-old second baseman had been available off the bench the previous two games, but wasn’t used. He’ll hit seventh against left-hander Nestor Cortes and the Yankees on Wednesday evening in New York. Rotoworld Today, 1:09 pm

    • Rings up ninth save
Miller recorded his ninth save in Tuesday's win over the Rockies, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Miller mowed through the trio of Jordan Beck, Charlie Blackmon and Ezequiel Tovar on 16 pitches, retiring each on swinging strikes to close out the one-run win. It was Miller's first save opportunity since April 30, as well as his 15th straight scoreless appearance. The flamethrowing right-hander hasn't allowed so much as a single since April 25 as well, and his trio of strikeouts Tuesday pushed his K/9 and swinging strikeout rate figures to an astounding 18.1 and 23.7 percent, respectively, across 20.1 innings. • Hitless since return
Lowe went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Lowe was activated from the injured list Monday and made his second straight start at second base. He's gone hitless across seven plate appearances while striking out three times. Lowe has hit third and fourth in the two contests against right-handed pitching. Rotowire.com Today, 6:09 am

    • Finds power in win
Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Angels.

Advice: Alvarez went back-to-back with Kyle Tucker in the first inning for his first home run since May 9. After slumping a bit earlier this month, his bat has heated back up. Alvarez now has at least a hit in 10 of his last 12 games and is slashing .340/.404/.553 with three RBI, seven runs and a 5:11 BB:K over that span. Rotowire.com Today, 4:36 am

    • Steals home, goes yard
Duran went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a steal of home plate during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: The Red Sox executed a first-and-third double steal perfectly in the eighth inning, as the throw to second to catch Rafael Devers stealing was cut off early and the subsequent throw to home wasn't in time to tag the speedy Duran. Duran has hit safely in seven straight games, batting 10-for-27 (.370) with a pair of triples, solo home runs and stolen bases during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 pm

    • Mason Miller strikes out side for ninth save
Mason Miller struck out all three batters he faced Tuesday against the Rockies for his first save of the month.

Advice: Miller earned eight saves from Apr. 9-30, but the A’s hadn’t had any save situations for him since. Given that he also pitched Sunday, it’s possible he’ll now require Wednesday off. The A’s have allowed him to pitch on consecutive days twice, but they haven’t had him work three times in four days. That it’s a day game Wednesday doesn’t help. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:42 pm

    • Enters double digits in saves
Munoz picked up the save Tuesday against the Yankees, allowing one hit and one walk over a scoreless inning. He struck out one.

Advice: Munoz has converted on eight straight save chances and has allowed just one run in his last 12 outings. He's one of 10 closers to reach double figures in saves and boasts a 1.69 ERA through 21.1 innings overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm
