    • Pivetta allows three in no-decision against Reds
      Nick Pivetta allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday.

      Advice: Pivetta gave up six hits, walked one and struck out five. He was on the hook for the loss before a late comeback by the Red Sox offense. It was another pedestrian start from Pivetta that might be becoming a trend. In his first eight starts of the year, he had 51 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings. In his last three starts, he’s had just 13 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home next weekend.

    • Wheeler goes seven, strikes out eight in win
      Zack Wheeler allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Phillies’ 12-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

      Advice: Wheeler gave up two hits, walked none and struck out eight. The win was his ninth on the year. It was a big time bounce back from Wheeler, who had allowed eight runs to the Orioles in his last start. He looked like his normal self while dominating the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Wheeler’s ERA is now 2.73 on the season. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Marlins at home next weekend.

    • Eflin goes seven, allows four in loss to Pirates
      Zach Eflin allowed four runs in seven innings and got the loss against the Pirates on Saturday.



      Advice: Eflin gave up five hits, walked one and struck out six. This was the longest of Eflin’s four starts since coming off the injured list and his second start in a row with at least six strikeouts. His ERA on the season is now 4.20. It’s safe to say Eflin hasn’t been able to repeat his breakout season last year when he won 16 games with a 3.50 ERA. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals at home next weekend.

    • Zach Eflin gives up four over seven against PIT
      Zach Eflin gave up four runs in seven innings while being charged with a loss Saturday to the Pirates.

      Advice: Eflin struck out six while issuing one walk. The 30-year-old right-hander gave up a long homer to Oneil Cruz in the first, and then gave up three runs in the third before settling down nicely. It was far from an abhorrent start, but Jared Jones was the better starter Saturday afternoon. Eflin now has a 4.20 ERA and (much more impressive) 63/6 K/BB through his 81 1/3 innings.     • Josh Jung (wrist) to take batting practice Tuesday
      Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Josh Jung (wrist) will take batting practice on Tuesday to determine whether he’s ready to return.

      Advice: Jung has been dealing with some minor soreness in his surgically-repaired wrist, which isn’t uncommon at this stage of his rehabilitation process. He’ll take batting practice early next week to determine whether he’s ready to return or needs some additional time in the minor leagues. Rotoworld Today, 11:37 am

    • Engaging in baseball activities
      Bogaerts (shoulder) has been running the bases, taking light grounders and doing one-handed drills in the batting cage, per MLB.com.

      Advice: Bogaerts broke his left shoulder while making a diving stop in the infield May 20 and remains on the 10-day IL. The veteran shortstop isn't likely to return until at least early July given that he has yet to take regular swings. When he does come back, Bogaerts indicated that he will adjust his swing to use a two-handed follow-through in order to protect his injured shoulder.     • Logs steal in loss
      Mullins went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 14-11 loss to the Astros.

      Advice: Mullins has multiple hits in three straight games, and he's added a pair of extra-base hits and three steals in that span. He's batting .333 (14-for-42) over his last 12 contests, a stretch that has helped him regain a starting role in center field. The outfielder is batting .202 on the year -- this is the first time he's been at or above .200 since May 8.       Jung (wrist) told reporters Saturday that he believes he could return to the Rangers on Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

      Advice: Jung noted that his wrist still feels stiff when swinging the bat, and that his return is still under discussion. His right wrist was fractured after being hit by a pitch April 1, and he underwent surgery one day later. He began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on June 16 and went 4-for-17 with one RBI over four outings.
