    • Yoshida (thumb) picks up hit in rehab game in AAA
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Yoshida was the designated hitter for the WooSox on Saturday, and he’s scheduled to DH again for Worcester on Sunday. Assuming those games go well, the 30-year-old is expected to rejoin the Red Sox at some point later this week. He should be in the lineup on close to an everyday basis once he’s back. • Begins rehab assignment
Yoshida (thumb) started as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehab game for Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.

Advice: Yoshida played the first of two rehab games as the DH for Worcester and said that he felt no pain coming out of either contest, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports. He'll serve as Worcester's DH again Sunday, and the Red Sox hope to have him back from the 10-day injured list by the end of the week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:11 am
    • Shifts to 60-day IL
Atlanta transferred Acuna (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Advice: The 26-year-old recently underwent season-ending surgery to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, so it was only a matter of time before he was moved to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Acuna will have nearly 10 months of recovery and rehab before Opening Day in 2025, so there's a chance he's ready for the start of next season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:48 am
    • Atlanta moves Acuña Jr. to 60-day injured list
Braves transferred OF Ronald Acuña Jr. from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: It’s a procedural move that creates room on the 40-man roster. Acuña Jr. will miss the rest of 2024 after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:37 am
    • Knocks in go-ahead runs
Chourio went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Tigers.

Advice: The 20-year-old delivered a clutch two-out double in the sixth to give his team the lead for good. With this performance, Chourio now has a pair of multi-hit efforts and five RBI over his last four games. The rookie has had his share of up and downs, but he continues to be given opportunities as he's appeared in 55 of the Brewers 64 games this season despite his .216/.257/.347 line. • Undergoes ACL surgery
Acuna underwent surgery Wednesday to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: The reigning NL MVP had already been ruled out for the season, but Acuna will now be able to begin rehabbing from the injury he suffered May 26. The 26-year-old underwent ACL surgery on his right knee in 2021, so he's familiar with the process. Acuna's injury that year happened in mid-July, not late May, and the difference could allow him to be ready for Opening Day in 2025. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:22 am
    • Ronald Acuña Jr. undergoes surgery to repair torn ACL
Ronald Acuña Jr. underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.

Advice: Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the procedure in Los Angeles. Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters Thursday that Acuña will stay in Los Angeles for “a month or more” at the outset of his rehabilitation process, which is expected to carry into the early portion of next year. There’s optimism that the 26-year-old fantasy superstar will be ready for the start of next season, barring any setbacks. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:24 pm
    • Out at least one month
Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Carter (back) will be out for at least a month, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Carter was placed on the 10-day IL on May 28 with lower-back tightness. Bochy noted that the injury is worse than the Rangers initially thought and has since been reclassified as a stress reaction. Carter looks set to rest for at least a couple more weeks before he resumes baseball activities, and he'll likely need at least a handful of rehab games before being cleared to return from the 10-day injured list. Wyatt Langford has taken over as the Rangers' primary left fielder during Carter's absence, while Ezequiel Duran and Robbie Grossman could end up splitting most of the reps at designated hitter. • Evan Carter to miss one month with back injury
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Tuesday that Evan Carter will miss at least one month with a stress reaction in his back.

Advice: Not great. Bochy added that Carter isn’t dealing with a stress fracture, which would’ve required a much lengthier absence, but he’s facing a lengthier absence than originally anticipated when he hit the injured list last week with a back sprain. The 21-year-old top prospect is likely going to be on the shelf until sometime after next month’s All-Star break, even in a best-case scenario. Fantasy managers in re-draft formats can probably move on, especially in shallow mixed leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:56 pm
